Hi friends! I know it's been a while but I'm hoping you'll give me some input.

What do we think of this jacket? I ran into it at the Rack and had to bring it home as it's not every day that I run across a fab red leather jacket. I tried on the medium in the store, wearing just a blouse and while it fit nicely, I couldn't zip it and it didn't have much in the way of extra room, so I brought home the large. I can't decide if it's wearing me, or I"m wearing it.
Does it seem to overpower me or am I able to handle the structure and weight of it? I haven't gotten my husbands input yet, but he doesn't always see the fine details like fit and such He'll either like it or not based on the style.

While there is plenty going on with the flaps and snaps, I don't think it overpowers you at all. I quite like it.

I think it is quite a bold style, but I don't see the cut or the size as being overpowering in any way.

I love the colour & shape on you & it looks good from what I can see - I like to be sure the shoulders fit well in jackets & I can't see for sure as the jacket is open.

It looks a little heavy on you. Is the leather pretty dense/thick or is it a soft leather? I do love the color.

The color is gorgeous - I am drooling! The shoulders look a little boxy to me... that could just be the pictures. It is a very strong statement considering what I think of as your style - but maybe this is a new style direction?

Una- I wouldn't call it a new style direction, rather an occasional change of scenery.
Citygirl- The leather is pretty soft.. not stiff. The only stiff parts are the quilted areas and the shoulders given the extra seaming.

I love the colour, but it does have a very strong shoulder line. I guess the question is, does it feel a bit big on you? If not, then you'd better keep it!

This is a rhetorical question, right? I love this on you Kim! It's a lovely dark leather, and you have it styled to perfection. I like the emphasis it adds to your shoulders. The knee high boots balance it out really well. KEEP! (I think you're due for a fun statement piece)

Kim that jacket is stunning but I would be keen see what the medium looked like on you. This doesn't swamp you at all, however it looks biggish in the shoulder area. I can see that the should fit but there is a 'heavy ness' to the shoulders that I am not sure about.

Yes, it is a bold statement. A red leather moto. But you wear it well. The color is smashing on you.

It does have a bit of a strong shoulder line, but it is a moto jacket. I think it should. A soft shoulder line is meant for a different kind of jacket IMO.

While it is outside your style norm, I think it looks great. Question is will you wear it enough if it is outside your style?

Gorgeous, Kim! I hope you will keep it. It does have a strong shoulder line, but that's what moto jackets are like. And it will soften up further with time. My only hesitation is that it may indeed stretch in which case maybe this size would end up being too large. But if it feels good and the price is right, this looks like a smart experiment in a new style.

Hi Kim! Can we see the size M, too? I like the jacket very much, fab color, but a bit big on your frame, and if you're not closing it at all(as didn't do in any of your picties posted!!) why wouldn't you buy the smaller one, if that fits (maybe) better? Anyway pls. keep one for sure, great find!:-)

I hope you decided to keep it. I have been drooling and stalking a red leather jacket for a month and it looks quite a bit like yours. The color is great on you. I can see it over a pair of black slim pants and a plain t with boots.

I have to go to the mall today, so I'll see if the medium is still there to try on and snap a pic. The problem was, it wouldn't have accommodated a sweater underneath like I'm wearing in the pictures. It would have only worked over a single thin layer. I don't want to be limited like that.

Kim, when I was trying on leather, the SA assured me that even if it only fits with a thin layer at first, it will soften and stretch until you can wear a sweater. I was full of doubt, but one SA told me she had bought a jacket in one size only to have to have it resized smaller!! I wondered if these jackets were not just *too* tight (would it stretch so much if strain were not put on it?) but I honestly have no idea.

Suz- even with the lining the leather stretches? Hmmm...

I was told the same thing. In fact, the red one I am considering fit me well in the medium but the small looked better even though I could barely zip it up. The sales person was wearing the same jacket and she couldn't zip it at all but it looked great. I have a thing for only buying jackets that comfortable close but almost never wear them that way so am not sure if this is one of my "rules" that should be relaxed.

Please try the medium - I've "known" you a while and think this is just a little too big on you! I just got the orange leather jacket from Nordstrom in a S and I can't zip it, but really I will never zip a leather moto.

love the color and the jacket.
i think the fit is hard to tell from the picture. did the medium pull across the back? where you able to cross your arms in the front? if it was pulling or tight in the back, then i would go with the larger size.

Without looking at the other comments, I think the shoulders are looking a bit overwhelming on your frame. I know this jacket, and many have the same issue.

Absolutely adore the colour on you Kim but agree that the smaller size might be a bit better. As the leather relaxes, this one may become a bit large on you. My black leather blazer barely does up but as I'm not planning on wearing it zipped, that's fine. And I'm glad I got that size because it is relaxing with each wearing.
