Hello YLF'ers, long time no see!
One of my key goals for the upcoming year is to significantly reduce the role chronic (back) pain plays in my life. One of the inevitable steps is to stop lugging half my possessions around town in a cross-body messenger bag several days a week, and get a backpack instead. However, I don't want to get something plain or inconspicuous (God forbid I go for the easy fix on anything, ha), but rather something that supports and enhances the core elements of my aesthetic. I'm essentially looking for something with an S&M-y/steampunk/industrial vibe. Think prominent hardware and zips in unexpected places.
While browsing around, I've found the following contenders:
http://www.plunderguide.com/tumi-travis-backpack/ (too big, and this brand is mad-expensive, but oh so delicious)
http://www.tumi.com/product/in.....viewHeader (basically my dream bag, in the grey, but a sling is not good for my back either, alas)
http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/po.....m_ite=pove (very much like the hardware, but it looks like this hangs quite low, and since the straps both come from the same center ring, I'm not sure it will be all that comfortable or good at distributing the weight evenly)
http://www.saksfifthavenue.com.....site_refer (a bit more schoolgirl-style, and less distinctive)
But none of these are really ideal. It's difficult to search for because there seems to be no conclusive search term matching what I'm looking for. Do any of you have any suggestion?
