Looking for Boot Recs for Wide Calves

Just wondering if anyone has either Steve Madden Iden Wedge or Frye Paige Loop Pull on Boot? I ideally want a grey boot but the Steve Madden grey color doesnt look that grey so I would settle for cognac. Anyone got these or tried them on and can recommend or dismiss them?Also what the quality of these 2 brands are like?

My calf is 15 inches exactly so I struggled last winter trying to find a boot that would fit me. Both of these say that the opening is 15 inches so I dont know if these would even be suitable enough for me. If not I also welcome any recommendations for anything else that may be suitable.

Puff - my calf is 16", so I know what you're going through.

I don't have experience with either of those boots. In general, I find a zipper boot is usually more successful for me than a pull on. However, if you can find those boots on a site that has free return shipping, I'd say try them. Sometimes you get lucky, and I don't really trust the measurements on any site any more.

I've had very good luck this winter with Clark's boots. Almost every boot I tried on fit me, even over skinny jeans, and I really liked several of the styles. Clarks are know for being a bit wider, so I'd give them a go if you can find a style you like.

My calves are also 15". I haven't tried either of those boots, but I found 2 pairs of boots that fit me perfectly this winter (I'm also SHORT - 5'1" - don't know how tall you are). I just bought the Frye Veronica Slouch boots, and I absolutely love them. Earlier in the winter I bought the Miz Mooz Bloom boots, and they fit like a glove. They look much cuter than in the photos, I think.

Let me know if you try the Paige - I was thinking about them.

I don't know if theses would be your style or not, but I recently bought these:

They're really cute, and would easily accommodate a larger calf. They're a bit loose on me, but I like the style enough that I'm determined to make them work, even though they slouch on me a little as the day goes on.

One caveat, the foot is slightly narrow. My feet are definitely not wide, but this boot felt just a little snug in the width. Maybe go up a half-size?

If they're not what you're looking for, no worries. Just thought I'd share!

Oh, and you could look for boots with lots of elastic in them. Like the one Janet posted. Or I have the Miz Mooz Chaminade boots, but they just come in black and brown.

Tarzy which boots do you have? I;m not locked into the 2 boots I posted they were just something I found that took my fancy. I need to be sure of anything I order being in Australia I usually dont get the chance to return anything if I'm buying from overseas.

Thanks for the sites Kappy, I have heard of Duo Boots and had a look on their site. Unfortunately they're mostly out of my price range once I convert to AUD and add shipping!

I don't know whether or not you've ever tried Trippen boots from Germany. They're pretty expensive, but, wow, are their shoes ever comfortable (I don't own any of their boots, but I do have a couple pair of shoes). The calf area often has a feature that allows for adjustment. I have not tried them, but I have heard people rave about the first boots linked to below. Personally, I like the second and third pairs. Unfortunately, only the second pair comes in gray!

I don't have any recommendation, but I can commiserate! I have a 15.25" calf and I am have a tough time finding ones wide enough to tuck in skinnies. So, thanks for posting this and the suggestions are great! I think I'm going to try out those Clarks. I am fond of the comfort that Clarks offer andt hese are pretty cute too!

Those Trippen boots are cool, too!

Hey my calves measures around exactly 40 cms and I am 4'11 so I know the deal! But I would have to agree with tarzy zipper boots are way better than the pull on to me!
