Hello, ladies! This seems like a silly question, but here goes:

I'm looking for a yellow crew or scoopneck pullover. Though I've been hoping to find something in a thrift or vintage store, I haven't had much luck, so I'm turning to ready-to-wear shops. I don't shop retail very often, so I have no idea where to look!

If I were to have a slim budget for this, say under $40, how could I best deploy it? I know that any cheap garment I buy is likely to sag or stretch or pill faster than a higher-end one, but is there any difference, say, between buying a $18 Target sweater or $26 Loft one or a Would I do better to steer clear of cheap cotton and pick synthetics, or the other way around? Who makes the best inexpensive things?

While I'd love to buy $300 merino garments that would last for decades, I can't quite afford it at this stage of life. I'd still like to get the best cost-per-wear out of my clothes as I can at my piddly price point, though!

Thank you so much!
