Looking for a nice cross-body purse.

Hi all,

I find myself on crutches a lot these days, and I'm in need of a hands-free purse that won't get in the way. Can anybody point me to where I would find something stylish for under $100? Have you seen any lately that you loved?

I really love the Fossil ones- they have several styles and if you have an outlet near you they are much cheaper.

I'm on the hunt for one too. I found several that I really liked at TJ Maxx recently.

If you're willing to spend up to $100 bucks, you can get something fabulous at the Maxx or Marshall's. You can find something nice for $20 to $30 and you can find something serviceable for under $20.

I *love* the red ruffle one in the YLF store! Too bad it's so big, and has the little handles.

Thank you for the suggestions, all. I wanted something less utilitarian and more of a pretty treat, and I'm not especially savvy when it comes to where to find nice bags, so this will help a lot. It's easiest for me to shop online, so I'll try those stores first.

LOP - I saw them in real life and realized that the length cannot be adjusted. Isn't that crazy? They were obviously too long and hit me in the wrong spot.

I would *never* have purchased anything other than a black or brown bag before running across YLF. Thanks to the wonderful style tips, I've gotten all daring and (almost) decided on a lemon-colored bag for the summer:

I don't wear yellow. I tend to wear cool, muted colors (gray, mauve, slate blue, occasionally white). Will it work as a complement?

What a sweet bag! I used to have very strict, old-fashioned rules for myself for handbag colors. I always liked bags with interesting or even crazy details (feathers, ostrich leather, bits of pottery as decoration) but I felt I had to be matchy-matchy with color.

This season I have broken out of that and am trying all sorts of new things and I love it! I think that yellow bag will look great with the colors you mentioned. I hope you don't carry much stuff though. I took one look at that bag on the model and was like, Oh no way! I could never fit my stuff in there!

It's funny, I used to only carry tiny purses and not have a hard time fitting everything in. As soon as I got a big purse, though, all my "stuff" expanded to fill the space. I think having a 3-yr-old probably adds to it.

One of these days I'll splurge on some feathers, myself.
