looking for a dress/outfit for my son's baptism

Hi - my 3 and a half year is (finally) getting baptised in mid June. I think a dress would be post appropriate. Because I live in a relatively small town in British Columbia I don't have access to some of the larger retailers (Nordstroms). Has anyone seen anything that might work via the Gap, Old Navy, The Bay, RW and Co, or Rickis?

Actually, Nordstroms does deliver to Canada, so check that out. You might have to pay duty -- about 24% of retail price -- either at the point of sale or upon delivery. I order lots from the States (I'm in Alberta, "hello neighbor"), and I usually don't pay duty if it's under $80 -- a few times I got away with $100 and no duty, but that depends.

From the Canadian sites, I'll check some out for you, but I think your best bets are HBC, Ricki's and the Reitman's Group stores (Including RW&Co, Smart Set and Cassis). I do think you'll have to go to a mall though, b/c I don't think they have online sales or they are very limited compared to B&M stores.

Help us out a little: preferred colors, styles, fabrics? What about a pretty spring/summer suit from RW instead of a dress?

Hi Rosee - thanks - a pretty spring/summer suit would be great. I tend to like fairly classic styles but not too stuffy. I am quite slim and very small busted. I like fabrics that don't wrinkle and have a bit of shape to them.

Congratulations on the Baptism (by the way, I originally said it but then forgot to repeat it with the second "first" comment)!!!

RW's website doesn't seem to have a lot going on right now, I know there is more in the store. Check out the Cassis website, some good ideas there (how accessible is Victoria?) -- you could take the ideas from Cassis and ask one of the either Reitman's Group stores for something similar, since they are related:

These are just ideas that are church appropriate, not sure what colors you go for. Just checked, I'm surprised they aren't in Vancouver -- just Mayfair Shopping Centre in Victoria listed (for BC). Then again, they don't have all the Calgary stores listed on their website (b/c I bought from 1 that is not mentioned).
