Looking for a delicate fabric wash

I am running out of my favorite Nordstrom Delicate Fabric Wash and Stain Remover, but it looks like Nordstrom has discontinued this product. I'm looking for something similar and welcome any suggestions. I've heard some good things about The Laundress product line, but it's pretty pricey.

I often use shampoo, especially when traveling.

What Joy says. Johnson’s ‘No More Tears’ baby shampoo. DS#1 uses it when he washes his trumpet (as recommended by his teacher back in the day) and DS#2 uses it to wash his prosthetic eye (as recommended by his ocularist.). I use it to hand wash delicate fabrics and when sink washing items whilst travelling. Never used it in the washing machine, though.

FWIW, liquid TIDE takes bicycle and automotive grease off skin (and clothes) fast and gentle.

Another vote for shampoo! I also use a product called Soak - I use the unscented for some things where I don't want fragrance (like bras). It takes only a few small drops in a sink of water and you can get it on Amazon.

Yep, the lady at the fancy bra store turned me on to baby shampoo years ago and I've been using it in the washing machine ever since.

How about castille soap? I use it for handwashing bras and cosmetic brushes.

I like the Laundress soap. And it smells *really* good.

I also sometimes use my gentle hand soap for a quick one item wash: Compagnie de Provence Savon Marseille. (I love this soap so much, especially the orange blossom version.)

I have the Laundress. It's definitely on the pricey side, though. The good thing is that a little goes a long way.

+1 for Soak from me. I like that you don’t have to rinse it - I usually do, but it reassures me about any minor residue.

Baby shampoo. I forget where I first read that factoid, but I'm certain it had something to do with caring for cashmere

Le Blanc Silk and Lingerie Wash. I use fragrance free but the reviews of the scented versions are mostly positive. I've used it for years and I have only good to say about this product. It's very expensive but a bottle lasts a long, long time.

Nordstrom wash was very good, sorry to hear it's discontinued.

I use Woolite. I have been washing my cashmere sweaters with this for years. I have used other delicate fabric washes without a problem.

Baby shampoo!! Who knew, all these years on harsh detergents or expensive gentle cleaners. I will switch!

FYI - baby shampoo is great to clean makeup brushes too.

I've been using Nordstrom's lingerie wash for years. Didn't realize they were discontinuing it; I just thought they ran out of the unscented for NAS.

I also have Soak, which was recommended to me by sewing friends. And I just bought a bottle of the Laundress to try, since I missed out on Nordie's and was at the Container Store for something else. So I guess I'm in good company, given the recommendations here!

Soak is great! I use it for all my hand washing except wool and cashmere items, which get washed using Eucalan.

I use Euclan or Dr. Bronners becUse both come in unscented versions.

Roxanna, thanks for the tip about using baby shampoo for cleaning makeup bushes. I also learned baby shampoo can clean costume jewelry too!
