I am like Cindy - I like both equally. #1 is a beautiful and classy frame, #2 has a bit more edge to it and looks a bit more casual. Both are beautiful on you.

Now I have the most terrible eyesight - but very adaptable eyes. My eyes tolerate contact lenses brilliantly. My optometrist has recently moved me to one eye dealing with short-sightedness and the other with the closer print issues. After about 30 seconds, my eyes adapted. I have progressive lenses in my glasses and not a single issue. Admittedly my "progressive" adjustment is very small at the moment - but hopefully you will be the same and not even notice the difference from wearing progressive lenses.

Thanks, ladies! I have not decided yet — haven’t had a chance to look elsewhere yet either. I did order progressive lenses to fit into my most-worn existing sunglasses (the ones in my profile pic), so we’ll see how those feel. I don’t know if that was the best choice to try progressives on sunglasses first? We’ll see. I do wear them a lot.

I hope to revisit the frame question and check out some more frame shops next week when my schedule frees up!

I prefer the bridge on 2. I was recently shopping for glasses and noticed lots of straight, high, bridges which I thought were oddly assertive! I think starting with the sunglasses is fine, the lenses do help with that middle distance of the dashboard. Just be patient and let the brain do all the work it needs to do to adjust. I have reading glasses for when I am sitting down to read for an extended period of time. I used an older pair and had the lenses put in as a ‘test’. Very happy as it gives me a full field for reading.

I'm also riding the fence here ... number 1 are a little more classic and conventionally flattering, but number 2 the colour is fantastic and they look a bit more trendy and modern to me, which, knowing your style might be a better fit?

Bijou, the fact that my progressive adjustment is relatively gentle at this point is what encourages me to try progressives now rather than wait until my prescription may change to a more drastic need. At least that's the hope! I got a message that the lenses for my sunglasses have arrived, so maybe I'll drop those off today to have the new lenses inserted. Eek!

Janet - that was my thoughts, it worked for me. I don't notice the progressive adjustment except now I can read the small print. Hope the new lenses work out for you too.
