Long walk shorts, part two (photo heavy)

Tried the long walk shorts with boots (#1-4), heels (#5), and heeled sandals (#6). Still unsure about the longer length. Here is a sampling of footwear. I wouldn't necessarily wear this top, it's just what I had on the day I took the photos. Hope some of the boot combos work, I wore one of them today (feel free to guess, you'll see it tomorrow!)

EDIT: I'm not against keeping this pair long and finding a second shorter pair IF the longer length works with some of these types of footwear.

I like all the heels in 5. I would also like 3 with textured tights. Have fun, it is a nice look for you!

I also like all of #5 as well! The white peep-toes in #6 could also work with the right top. Do you have very form-fitting boots with a high heel? I think that would be the boot-counterpart of the heels in #5.

All of the heels work for me with these shorts! I think the boots in #1 could work if the walking shorts were just a *tad* shorter. Not by much, though. It could also be that the slightly longer top is throwing off my sense of the proportions, so it might work as is with a shorter top.

I tried this look once many months ago, got mixed reviews, and chickened out. Now I'm kind of tempted to try the walking shorts + tall boots look again as we are slowly edging into a very rainy spring.

I like #3 as well as the gold sandals in #6. Any of the pumps would work too. You have a lot of good options in my opinion!

I like these pants with the more fashion-forward heels in #6. The gold (or are they neutral?) heels in this series are killer! That is my top favorite way to style these pants. They are tricky pants to style, but with the gold heels, the look is current and leg-lengthening.

I also like #3, those are super cool booties. You have an amazing shoe collection!

Thanks for the input ladies! I find it very interesting that so far the heels and (most) sandals have universal approval, but the boot preference is more varied with #3 in the lead. Current tally #1:1 #2:1 #3:5 #4:0. This is very helpful, happy to hear more comments if they're available

Rae - I have zero form-fitted taller boots actually; I do have some ankle boots that are sleek though. Will have to think on that, I'm usually drawn to slouchy styles but I should probably have one sleek heeled boot!

Kari - You should definitely try it again, and I would love to see it It does seem that the rain is sticking around for a while.

Denise - Those sandals are indeed gold, and are currently orphany (bought over a year ago, only worn twice). But I plan to wear them plenty if we ever warm up over here!

I like 2, 3, 5 and 6, and my favorite is the third picture in #6. 4 and 1 seem off to my eye. I think it's because if this was a skirt they would look a little off too.

You've accumulated a great footwear collection, Aida! Did you go about it in your usual organized way?

I've got a very similar pair of shorts, but they are a bit longer on me and there's no skin between boot and cuff. I'll have to post photos to compare, as I can't figure them out.

Angie - Hooray, that's what I felt as well! #1 didn't get much love except from you, Kari and me though. I will keep these long to wear with heels/heeled sandals/heeled boots and look for a second shorter pair for the flats/flat boots!

Una - Your favorite one (third in #6) is officially my least practical shoe at 5" with no platform Shoe acquisition is less strategic than other clothing for me because I LoOoOOoove shoes, but I do generally approach it as "I need this type of shoe for this type of look/effect." Previously I'd been buying only the classic styles I wanted and not the trendier ones like boot #3 but no more of that from now on! I've got 40ish pairs of shoes and wear [except 2ish] all (see below, flats are hiding on the bottom level of the rack), but I very much want more colored and fun pairs! I think I've got the basics covered at this point Let's see those shorts!

EDIT: Una I like your idea of thinking of these similar to a skirt the same length. That helps a lot!

Wait, I want to vote! I really like #1 and #5 and #6. The looks that are extreme. Either no leg at all, or all leg. Little peeks at the legs in the other looks don't draw my eye. And I LOVE your shoe collection.

I like #1,3,5 and 6. Both 1 and 5 caught my eye before opening the thumbnails. 3 and 6 appealed to me on closer inspection.

I like 2 and 4 the least. Love the metallic and strappy options in 6. #5 is really nice too.

I"m with Angie... I love them all but 4.
And the first shot in 6 isn't my fave... I prefer the darker shoe.
That is such a chic look with the black and white and boots!

Thanks for the input Janet, Kim, and Rose! The boot preference is looking a bit more cohesive now, and there seems to be preference for the metallic sandals (these two are somewhat impractical, but now I know where to improve my sandal collection!).

Kim - If I wore the white sandals in #6 with ALL white and just the black shorts, what would you think about that? That's what I was picturing for those....

2 and 3 are my fave boot options. I think I like them best when I see a little leg ; ) Love all of the pump selections and like all of the sandals except for the gold ones. You've got a great shoe collection there, Aida!

Sheez girl, wish you lived closer to me so I could borrow some shoes! All of them so cute. I'm not gonna vote on the shorts cause I think you have it covered--you do make me wanna try on a pair now though. So in the picture of your shoes, what's is that black and white printed item next to the long dress with flowers? I've been trying to guess if it's a dress or a jacket... love that print!
