Long Blazer Reviews?

I am constantly looking for longer blazers. I love to wear a longer style with pants, and because I commonly wear tops untucked, I like to cover their edges, too. But longer blazers are almost IMPOSSIBLE to find!

For those who have a Nordie's nearby, have you seen this blazer and have you or anyone you know tried it on? The reviews say that it runs big, and that's fine, but does it run big all over (even in the arms), or are people just overreacting because it is longer than normal?

I also have been looking for a long black blazer/duster and ordered this:http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/vi.....egory-pers As soon as I tried it on, I knew it would be returned. No lining (which I knew) did not hang straight, was poor quality all around and I sent it back immediately. I know that is not the jacket you linked to but wanted to save you the time if you also were considering this V. Camuto piece.

Thank you, Angie and njw. I really appreciate it, as my closest Nordstrom is a little over an hour from here, and even they don't carry a lot (smaller store, despite it being in a major city in WI). You have saved me the trouble of ordering this and returning it.

But if anyone has time or has noticed anything in store, are there any longer blazers that might work on me? I am shorter of stature, but my height (what little of it there is) is in my upper body (long torso) and not my legs. I saw another longer blazer earlier, and because I didn't save it, I cannot find it again, but it must be out in my size currently. Any other longer blazers that are better than this one?

For some reason, I feel that a long blazer goes better with pants, especially slim pants. I tend to carry weight in my middle, and a blazer that goes past the waist does not emphasize that the way a shorter one does. Last, I feel that an untucked top that shows under a jacket is sloppy looking, yet I prefer not to tuck. Perhaps it isn't as traditionally flattering, but with wedges or taller shoes, I still feel the proportions work.

And perhaps it isn't even necessarily a long blazer I'm looking for; just one that isn't cropped. I just don't like short jackets that barely come past the waistband of pants, and because of my longer torso, that includes most jackets.

Echo, agreed. Longer jackets look great with pants/jeans. Short jackets are fab with skirts and dresses.

I had this first CE long jacket on a 5ft 3 client and she looks fab. The rest were good too.

Echo - I am also a long jacket girl. Having ridden hunters through my teens there is no more elegant look than English equestrian - long jacket slim leg. Don't know your price range but don't forget to check out theory. Many of thei jackets run long (not the gabe), EF if you can find narrow cuts does them well, also look for cutaway styles the Veronica Beard Kennedy and even Smythe will cover your butt while giving a very flattering line up front and also work w skirts and dresses. Hope that helps

While I like to wear shorter jackets with trousers and some jean style pants, I am another petite that really likes long jackets with slim pants.

One of the finds is an ink cardigan from NAS rather than a jacket, but I quite like it. The back has a drawstring to add some structure. And I am waiting on the Lafayette that Angie included above.

I also have the James Perse long blazer style jacket. It's heavier and too casual to wear as a blazer and it's more coat length on me. Which makes it perfect as casual outerwear because it works over various length tops, and I sized up so I can comfortably layer.
