loafers... yay or old lady nay?

I'm seriously lacking in transitional weather shoes (as in not boots, not sandals) I can't decide if these are matronly or not. I wouldn't necessarily wear them with skinnies, most likely boot cuts. Unless it is declared that loafers with skinnies is fab.

yay= keep
nay= you're way to hot and stylish for these puppies

Keep, but I'm a fan of old lady shoes obviously. I think the metallic keeps them from looking matronly. I actually like them just the way you're wearing them. I've been looking at loafers too, I hope you get a thumbs up.

I voted nay. From the side view I thought they look good, but I am having a hard time envisioning these in an outfit. Could be my failing though.

I voted nay. I really like a more driving moc kind of loafer - in fact, I'm sort of obsessed by them. I have some pricey Tods, but I actually prefer my AK Anne Klein Greater mocs. (I have three pairs.) They are as comfy as slippers and they come in lots of colors. I wear them in the summer with skinnies, casual short skirts, and bermudas. If I need a pedicure, they are my best friends!

I think this really depends on what you pair them with . . . could go either way.

EDIT: I'm leaning toward nay considering the classic slant in your wardrobe.

I like them and think they could look fine. They don't look "old lady" in the sense I think you mean it. I think the metallic makes them workable, but then, I am an old lady.

Sorry to vote nay... I am anti-loafer in general - I feel about loafers (nless they are really clunky like Fluevogs) the way some people feel about Uggs.

Una- don't apologize at all. I want all perspectives. I am pretty anti-loafer as well. I really don't know why I even tired these on, but I did and I do have to say they are mega comfy, but I need comfy as well as stylish.

I'll work on getting an outfit put together for these Angie.

QM, I'm with you on comfy, which is why I have mostly boots and clunky shoes (and Uggs). I don't know what it is about loafers, exactly. Look forward to an outfit!

I voted nay Queenie, I think if the vamp was slightly lower they would be so much more versatile. I do think the right pair would look amazing on you.

I like 'em--- I see a ton of young ladies around here (the stylish ones) at the college running around in loafers and skinnies in fun colors or metallics as a ballet flat alternative--- I think you could pull them off, but they do need a great outfit to go with.

I also voted nay, but might be swayed if you showed them with an outfit. I bought clogs to serve this very purpose, and I find they work with a lot more than I thought they would. But I know that clogs (like loafers:) aren't for everyone.

Nay for me. The higher vamp and the black "comfort" sole say old lady to me. Your cute feet deserve better. I'd go with a true driving moc over these:/

Nay. I don't like the clunky heel, and somehow I have never come around to gold loafers. I associate them with old ladies, although I don't know why.

If they had a less pronounced sole and the uppers were a fun color, I'd say yes. Like so:
