L.L. Bean Sales?

I finally made it over to the L.L. Bean site, and yes, I too fell in love with their flannel shirts -- in Petite sizes no less!!! But before I pull the trigger, I'm wondering if they run site wide sales, and so I should cool my jets a bit and wait? This is the first week we've had flannel shirt weather, so I can wait.

In my experience, the sales are sort of few and far between. Like once in a while, I'll get a 10% or -- maybe -- a 20% off notice in my inbox. There was just a 10% off sale a few weeks ago. I'm sorry I can't offer more details....maybe someone else knows when the next sale might happen.

I've noticed things sell out with Bean, FWIW, so it might be worth it to pounce now.

I have no idea, Donna, but good info from Kristin. If you love the flannel shirts, I would say go for it before they sell out (I have two now, and absolutely love them: great drape, good-quality fabric and so cosy:-) Or maybe you could check their price adjustment policy? Then if the shirts go on sale next week or something, you could call customer service to get an adjustment.

LL Bean rarely runs sales, and when they do, it's 10% off, as Kristin said. They stand behind their product, even years down the road. I've never gotten anything from them that wasn't worth the full price. And I don't wait for the sales, either, because things do sell out.

They always have a 10% off on a holiday (usually the entire 3 day weekend). Retailmenot has alerts you can set. They run a promo where you earn $10 giftcards for every $50 spent about 4 times a year (I think there will be one around end of November). Some catalogs have codes on them too. They will price adjust within 60 days I think.

LL Bean just had a 20% off sale, ending Oct 27. I would not be surprised if they have a similar promotion again this year around the US Thanksgiving holiday. Watch for lower prices on items, or particular colors, as their stock sells out to get the best deals. Sometimes I will add a large quantity of an item to my shopping cart -- say 20 -- to gauge how many they have left. As Alexandra mentioned their prices are a good value even without a sale, and it might not be worth missing out on something you really like.

I agree, sales few and far between and minimal at that. Even end of season markdowns are not huge. They do sell out quickly in popular sizes and colors...I've learned not to wait with LL Bean!

I agree with everyone, the sales are approx. quarterly and not for huge amounts. The promotion they run where you can earn a gift card to use later is probably the best 'deal' if you are a frequent LLB shopper.

Also, they offer their own Visa on which you can accumulate reward points. I used to have one, back when they offered free shipping for cardholders only.

I usually get e-mails for 15% off sitewide sale about once every 6 weeks or so. I think some of these may be tied to using the LLBean credit card. As others have mentioned, sellling out happens often - I usually try to wait for the 15% off promotion but recently I ended up snapping up an item I wanted at full price in the store because the colors and sizes I wanted were already sold out online.
