Live Fashion Chat

I don't know if anyone is interested, but I just came across this on the Times (UK newspaper) website - a live fashion chat about what to buy/wear this autumn according to the Times fashion writer.

The live chat starts at 1pm British Standard Time today (Friday), but I am sure that the full discussion will also be available afterwards too.

We've had fun here with live fashion chats too ... remember Oscar night? Or Inauguration Day? It was amazing to be on threads chatting with women all over the world while watching those events unfold.

That was great; I didn't participate but I lurked and read everything. She says that the androgynous look will be huge for the fall.

Yeah, it was pretty good.

What I took away was:

- androgynous look
- nods to both the '80s and the '40s
- boyfriend blazers
- berry colours
- flat shoes - brogues, loafers, jazz pumps
- big shoulders
- florals are out - houndstooth and animal prints are the key patterns
- short boots with lots of hardware
- snoods!
- and apparently hot off the catwalk in Milan - leggings...for men!

She mentioned a lot of British brands. I'd never heard of Belstaff boots - have you? - but she recommended them and said she owns a pair herself that she wears a lot. Anyone know where one can buy this brand in North America???

I don't know where you can buy Belstaff in America but from what I know of the brand it sells premium leather goods with a slight military or biker feel. Think earth colours and lots of hardwear and you will probably have a similar look.

Ooh thanks for the update LK! Berry colours and short boots sound right up my alley. Belstaff doesn't ring a bell no. And I think I can do without men in leggings;-)

In case your are interested, here are some photos of Belstaff Boots. Expensive? Yes. But apparently classic and really well made. The woman interviewed said she's still getting lots of wear from the same pair she bought 5 years ago.

Seriously? Any idea where in the US one could buy these boots? I'd love to at least try on a pair...

Edited to include: Forget it, thanks. I already went ahead and used Google to find where these honeys are sold in the US. Might have to check 'em out next time I'm in America!
