linen pants, sharing styling trick

I just bought something I never thought I would get-wide leg linen trousers. They look like photo #1 except they are a nice shade of light gray, and they fit like photo #2. I really like the way they fit on me, not butt baggy, and just a bit loose in thigh. Also a surprise to me, they are the length as in photo #1, so will work with flat sandals. Now for styling them. What I found to work is tuck in the tie stringy things, and find a top length that you would wear if you did a part tuck,,but if you do not want the band to show-instead of tucking just turn under a section of the top and secure with fashion tape. do this just so it drapes over a bit. This keeps the outfit looking fluid and breezy. Just got them yesterday, so not wearing this look yet, but had to try something to decide if they are keepers or not. They also will work with a couple of shorter tops. DH thinks they look like pajamas with longer looser tops.

I do that trick too (but with a floppier semi-tuck), or I'll just cut the ties out entirely Great idea to use a little tape.

I hate when pants have a button and tie, or elastic and tie. They are so in the way of everything! Fab pant style though!

That's an idea I wouldn't have thought of...thanks. I hate the tie things too, and have some pants that have them. Even when I tuck them in there is still that little bump. Yuck, like I need an extra bumps on my stomach. But, one time I cut them off of a pair of shorts and could never keep the shorts up after that. So I found out they serve a purpose even if it seems like I don't pull them closed at all. Any good tips for hiding the bump?

The only tie pants I own are gear. I love the tip though. I carry fashion tape with me in my purse. It's so handy!

I like those pants. I wear long wide leg pants in summer but mine are black. They feel like I'm wearing pajamas but I always get compliments on them.

Gorgeous pants. Drapey and summery! That's s real neat trick. I do it too, but I add a lose stitch to hold the hem of the top like a faux-tuck. But fashion tape is a much easier and versatile idea.

Off to find the tape in India. Can't wait to see these pants styled in a WIW!

Lisa Shoppers Drug Mart carries Fashion Tape. At least the one in Bracebridge does. And Bracebridge is a small little town in the middle of Ontario.
I love those pants. I bought a similar pair in Olive green at Joe Fresh (grocery store) yesterday. I may go back and get more colours. $24. I looked everywhere for them and there they were at the end of the spice aisle.

My pants have a zipper fly and button band so no need for the strings. I just tucked them in since I was not sure I would keep them. If I keep them (almost sure I will) I will just remove the tie strings.

I got them at Marshalls. They had others there earlier in the season and some at TJMaxx, but they were baggier and not as nice as these.
