Hey there, so I posted my first outfit ever a couple weeks ago and got some great feedback- I think mainly that I need to get a new bra fitting and that I should look for knitted tops and ditch the old t-shirts.

So, here's what I wore to work today:

I'm going to make an effort to purge the t-shirts from my wardrobe. They are just so cool and breezy paired with skirts in the summer- it's painful to let them go! (But I will). What about the shorts, do you think they are too casual? They're a tad wrinkly from sitting at a preschool graduation, but I at least think the bermuda length works pretty well.

Anyhow, I'm a work in progress. Thanks for the input!

i think the outfit looks devine and fits fabulously. i think the shirt is super cute and is the perfect frame for a bold necklace. with all the neutrals in this outfit, you can go wild with the necklace you could try a strand of chunky beads or a pendant necklace, for example. you could still do a neutral color, like a chunky wooden necklace. i think the shorts are perfect for your workplace. not too casual when you wear it with the right things, like you seem to have done. very chic

ADORABLE!! Wow. So cool to see the before and the after.

I think the shorts are just fine - but then again, I have a pair just like them, so I would say that.

The shoes are completely fabulous. What brand?

As for the t-shirts: I wouldn't purge them completely. Some days you want something you don't have to worry about getting messy - like a really hot muggy sweaty day, or camping day, or playground day, or moving or painting day, or boating day (which is every weekend for us in the summer!). They can come in handy for layering pieces when you want some warmth in the winter.

Tanks like the one in photo 1 - I wear those to bed, with pj bottoms. Comfy!

Wow, wow and WOW! You look incredibly good! The shirt fits you perfectly, as well as the shorts, and I love those shoes! Great combo!

I agree with the ladies above on adding a bold necklace and also on keeping some T-shirts for layering and casual activities. I like to layer them under sweaters in the winter for a pop of color.

I love that top! Is it from BR by any chance? And I also think that it would look great with dark denim clamdiggers, like those J Crew ones that are currently on sale

Super-cute outfit! Love that top (I agree with the other ladies about trying a bold necklace- that was one of my first thoughts about the outfit) and of course the wedges are great. Although I don't wear earth tones terribly often myself, I love the way you've worked them here.

Oh my gosh, you guys are soooo incredibly nice! Way to make me feel good! I was feeling so-so about the top today, worried that it might have been a little too low-cut, but I'm glad you guys think it looks good and that the shorts aren't too casual. And I never realized it, but you're right, I do have quite a few "earth tones" in my wardrobe...I think I tend to gravitate towards them.

And I think I will def do as Shiny and Tanya suggested and hold onto my t's, especially since quite a few are in bright colors that I might be able to layer and rework under other things. I'll have to consult your photos for some inspiration there, because I'm used to just throwing on a top and a bottom and am not super skilled yet at putting together complex outfits.

I just picked it up this weekend- it's on sale. The shorts are also J.Crew, and I was looking at those clamdiggers too.....trying to resist because I've been buying a lot lately and I think that I actually do have quite a few good items, I just need to rework them in a fresh way (I actually forgot I even had those wedges!).

So, you guys are a huge inspiration. Seeing what you are putting together is making me look at my closet in a whole new way!

Now we’re talking. Perfect! Love that top on you! And the bermudas look great! I do not know HOW you perceive yourself as top heavy when you look perfectly proportioned to me.

I am the anti-T. I’d like to reiterate that layering T’s need to be fab quality. Straggly 1x1 rib won’t cut it. Be discerning when you cull your T’s. Please!

Lindz, I love those shorts! I have the same ones and just bought a second pair on sale because I wear them more than I can wash them. We could have been twins today, because I wore a similar square neck top from BR in green and the same white shorts!
