Less wrinkles . . . still a no go?

So some of the folds came out overnight. I tossed it over my PJ's so ignore that! lol
Still a thumbs down or do we see less 'pear' now?
I head to Tampa tomorrow, so that's when I'd be able to return it.

yay - it was just wrinkled funny, keep!
nay - all I see is shiny satin triangles

It's hard to judge with only sections of you

My concern was not the pear - shape, which is a fab shape, btw. It's that the insets hang too low on the jacket. The entire jacket should have been shorter to my eye.

You don't want to see the bedhead section of me, believe me!! I think I get what you're saying. All my other jackets are cropped, and I really like them. I sort of expected this one to be straighter and longer, sort of BF-ish. Hmmm, will have to really think on this one. Thanks again for all the input - it really helps!

Dang, I am having lots of trouble in general, opening thumbnails. From what I can see, the flaps are a bit off, but I cannot enunciate why. How does it look unbuttoned? I'm thinking it might look much better as it drapes, perhaps over a column of color or a dress.

Hmm, I agree with Angie that we need to see your whole body. But it does look a bit better to me - there seems to be less emphasis on the hips now that it's not so wrinkly. Also, the lighting here makes it seem less shiny.

I do get what Angie is saying though, about the insets hanging too low. I think this might be contributing to the odd shape because it's almost as is it's making your waist and hips appear LOWER than they should be. Nothing wrong with dropped waists and hips, but combined with the way the insets make your hips appear wider, it's somewhat odd. I think the BF jacket look probably only works with a straight cut rather than this kind of more shaped cut?

Also, I think I may be subconsciously influenced by the rest of your attire, LOL, but the softness of the material here reminds me a bit too much of men's pajamas.

I still like the shape and colour. I get what people are saying about the satin triangles though. I'm more concerned now that it still looks a bit limp, even though some of the wrinkling has disappeared. I guess the question is, do you feel wonderful in it? If not, return it and start over.

I know how much you love or want to love this jacket but I don't think it does you justice. I have seen you rock many pieces of clothing and this one doesn't meet those standards.

funny thing, in my heart of hearts I know the BF will turn his nose up at the embellished shoulders immediately lol.
Makes me think I should have gotten that Guess 'Renee' white tux jacket way back when . . .

Mm. Still needs more ironing, lol. (Yes, that's right, I'm in mom mode; I just sent school fee money to DD with pedantic instructions, hehe.)

Anyways, I like it better; it's hanging better. But I feel it could be even better. It's a little frustrating, because it should look like the ad pic and it doesn't. I don't think it's just body type differences between you and the model. I think they did some sewing for that pic.

I just reviewed yesterday's photos after these. Sadly, I think the sleeves are .5" - 1" too long, and the body is probably 1" - 2" too long. If it were shorter, the back vent wouldn't be pulling open, and it wouldn't fall below your crotch. I don't think I'd want to see the slash pockets a full 2" higher, but maybe at least .5" higher. Maybe you could try pinning or even lifting it from the top just to explore?

I know how filled you were with anticipation regarding this jacket. Sometimes the reason an item goes on deep discount or doesn't sell out is because it has fit issues.

Donna, I think you and Angie are right. One inch shorter all the way around and I'd be doing cartwheels. But, I'm not that extra inch longer to fit it. As a matter of fact, I sometimes wear petite jackets. And I can't imagine what kind of tailoring that would entail (if possible at all). I sadly think it will have to go back
To any of you longer torso, more rectangular ladies - this would be lovely. It's quite well made and fully lined. Just not quite right for my body type, I'm afraid. Boo.

I agree with Angie -- the jacket should probably be a tad shorter on you. Otherwise I love the styling and it probably needs a good professional pressing or steaming.

I agree it's too long. I think the style is very clever, but the matte portion is meant to read as a tux cut (what is that called?), with the satin hanging below, but it's not hitting you high enough.
I'm sorry it's not a better fit for you!
I'm with your bf on the embellished shoulders, but that's just a personal style thing.
