Leopard print cardi composition

One of my favourite stores (from where I got my coat) is having a sale and this leopard cardi caught my eye. It is round neck, which is a cardi silhouette I don't really wear buy the print could liven up and 'go' with many items in my wardrobe. Plus, it is cropped so I'm hoping it will go with dresses as well.

My only concern is the composition, it has 7% angora and I've heard that angora sheds a lot. Since it is not 100% angora, will it still shed a lot? Do you guys avoid angora sweaters?

Oooh; I had a hat that was around 10% angora and it shed like no-tomorrow. There were pink fuzz hairs all over my jacket all the time!

Sorry to say, I've had shedding angora problems as well....with a pair of socks. One way to check is to visit the store and see if the items on the rack next to it have been shed on. That does depend on how often the sales associates use a roller on the clothes, but it may be worth a try.

It sounds like fun to add a piece like this to your wardrobe. But I am sorry to say that I can't wear angora at all in any amount because it drives me bonkers with the shedding and hairs getting in my eyes and nose. I wear wool quite comfortably, for comparison.

I love angora and wear it a lot in the winter. I've found that much of the shedding depends on the quality of the angora. I've had angora sweaters that shed like crazy and others that practically never shed. I think that it all depends on the quality of the angora. As a knitter, I choose high quality yarns, so when I knit with angora, shedding is never a problem. If I were you, I'd run my hand over the sweater a few times and see if it sheds in your hand. If it does, that's an indication that you'll have a sweater that sheds a lot. If not, go for it! As you said it's only a small percentage of angora, so you're probably OK!! (It's a really pretty sweater and looks like it will go with lots of outfits.)

I tend to avoid angora both in finished knits and in yarn because it not only sheds, it makes me sneeze because the little fibers go everywhere. Even a small percentage is too sheddy in my opinion, particularly if it is a light color because it leaves light fibers all over my dark coats and pants.

Thanks guys, I can't stand sweaters that shed, so this one is a no no for me. Shame, it looked like it could be super versatile!
