Leopard, last one. ETA: keeping it

I'm at the mall and this is the last one in my size. Too overwhelming or not? Maybe shorten the sleeves?

I would keep it simple and wear slim jeans/pants or a pencil/jersey skirt.

ETA: I'm keeping it! And the colours actually pulls together some booties and handbags I already have.

I don’t see this as too overwhelming. Curious about other opinions. What do you think, and did you get it? Does it fold down if unbuttoned?

I think the sleeves do look a bit long, but otherwise it seems fine.

Harmonica, I'd love you to get this! Adorable on you. Sleeves are a bit long, maybe could alter? Otherwise perfect. At $45 10 wears, as someone said in your other thread, is $4.50! Worth it for love!
I paid $179 in 2012 for my faux fur vest, now 5 years later wear guessed as 43 times( wear only tracked past 18 m) so around $4 a wear by now. But loved by me and so many compliments over those 5 years

Now I have a leopard in my home! It was the last one in town and online! And I bought a leopard handbag thingy (don't know the name and it's not a pompom) and striped golden socks too.

I'll try some stylings with jeans tomorrow. I do have a 30 days return window, but I'm pretty sure I'll keep it. I'll figure something out with the sleeves. Either try some easy sewing myself or use fashion tape or take it to my tailor. I don't want to spend on tailoring before I see how much I'll use it.

Jenni NZ, your CPW convinced me! Leopard is fun and the price is great. If it becomes an orphan, I'm sure someone else will love it. I'm happy to go out of my comfort zone and have some fun

The coat is a fast fashion piece, but I like the pattern and I think it doesn't look sloppy even if the seams and other details are a bit... uneven. (This is far from real craftmanship!)

delurked, not sure I understand what you mean by «.... fold down when unbuttoned». I think the collar folds a bit in front, but not much - at least in the beginning.

Can I say about 5 or 6 years ago - before they were everywhere and the only place you could really find them was vintage - I desperately wanted a leopard coat. I searched and searched eBay and found a good coat, and wore it maybe 5 times and that was it. So the question is , will you really wear it? I found in the end it was for me a lot of leopard. This thread hopefully will prompt me to try styling it again. It fit well and was fun but in the end, well, just a lot of leopard!!!

I like it. The vibe is more cuddly teddybear than streetwise tigress
Size looks good, very long sleeves on coats don’t bother me.
Don’t like the proportions with skirt, but should look better with slim trousers.

Obviously, this is not a rational purchase, with winter coming another warm coat (Love your 2 coats, btw : the one you’re wearing in the last post’s collage and the green one you’ve shown earlier) or a real (I mean filled with down, not polyester) puffer would probably be more appropriate, but at that price...
It’s always the problem with sales, isn’t it? Price is good but the season is over to wear the item, so you have to be sure you’ll still like it next Fall.

Sleeves aren't hard to alter. If you have some sewing skills you can do it yourself. That's what I do. It's a hand stitching alteration.....you don't need a machine. Don't use fashion tape.....coat sleeves are too bulky for that kind of quick fix. You need to open them up, cut, iron in a new fold and restitch the lining to the coat.

I'm glad you're keeping the jacket. I wonder how warm it would be in Norway? I assume it's as warm as wearing a fleece jacket. As for the sleeves, I shortened the sleeves on my pink JCrew blazer entirely by hand. It was surprisingly easy.

Go Team faux fur! It'll get a lot of wear for sure. Not a difficult alteration, but I quite like too long sleeves on a winter coat. UsefuL when I any find my gloves.

skylurker: aha, you're so right! I like the teddybear vibe, not the tigress. Temps are not freezing yet, so I can use it these days which is fine. I've done some mistakes with shopping for next years season.
Rambling Ann: I thought it was fun, too. I wouldn't have thought of it without YLF and Angie's strategies with picking up the same pattern, colour or texture in several accessories.
Marilyn: thanks for the tips!
JAileen: I think of it as a lined fleece jacket, too. Might be slightly warmer, though. I'll layer anyway.
approprio: Long sleeves look good on you! On me, not a look I enjoy. I feel overwhelmed and like I'm wearing someone elses (too large) clothes. And I always have my gloves/mittons at hand. Maybe it's my super power?
