Leopard - pyramid - studs: too much?

I decided that I need a pair of earrings that have a bit of edge. Pyramid studs sounded like just the ticket, but then I saw these leopard pyramid studs:

Questions:
1) Does the leopard make it less edgy and more trendy? Stick to plain gold pyramids?
2) Any other ideas for hint-of-edgy earrings?

These may be the definition of "hint of edgy."

One thing, though -- if it's edge you're after, these may be hinting too quietly. From a distance, I can imagine them looking quite conservative. Up close, you would notice the leopard and the pyramid shape, but they might look sort of plain from across the room.

I like them a lot - what a fun way to add animal print to your outfit. I agree the size might make a difference between being a bit edgy or not. If they are small I think they are less edgy I guess.

I think they're fun, and as a (not as practicing as I used to be) punk I've never considered pyramid studs edgy. Just essential :} I've got 3 pairs of pyramid studs, dusted silver, dusted brass, and dusted copper. I use them as my "neutral" earrings when I wear statement necklaces, hehe. I think a black pair would be edgier than these, but I'd wear these cuties in a heartbeat. What about studded hoops?

I think these are very nice but I don't see them as edgy - they are gold and leopard, both of which read conservative to me somehow. But I have no judgment in the jewelry department.

I love pyramid studs, but I wonder if the leopard print on these might be read wrong at a distance. They could easily be mistaken as simply reflecting light oddly or even being corroded, KWIM? If they are small - as earrings by nature tend to be - it would be difficult for someone to even tell they had an intentional print or design unless they specifically looked for it. I think plain metal studs would be better.
