Length on round hem top?

You all know my ikat top. I mostly wear it tucked or semi-tucked so it wasn't an issue, but the recent blog post got me thinking about the length of it when I wear it untucked. I think it's a bit too long, am I right?

#1 Current length.
#2 Shorter.

What do you think? Should I shorten it?

I actually like the current length. I would say this is a bit of an eye-of-the-beholder thing. I couldn't really objectively say one was better than the other. I personally would wear the first version, though.

I've been stewing over this with a couple of my tops too, Astrid. I have a white sateen with big black polka dots that I swear looks like a big diaper in front. I'll need to have some others weigh in, but my immediate impression is that button front shirts should be a little longer, but those without button fronts should either be tunic length or just to the base of the zipper --- no further. I think I actually prefer the slightly shorter length on you (although it's a minor preference).

It's a hard call, honestly. I have a slight preference for the shorter version, but I rather doubt it's worth going to the bother of shortening.

It would be splitting hairs to choose between the 2 lengths. I like the longer length slightly better, though.

Thanks to you all. Seems like most of you like the longer length better. I'm just not sure, I somehow feel a bit stumpy in the longer length, that's why I mostly wear it in a semi-tuck now.

I think you're right, I don't feel the same way about one of my button front shirts that's the same length. Maybe it's also the fabric and the pattern?

I would be sewing one seam all around the hem on my sewing machine, I wouldn't have to do any cutting - so it's very easy!
