Leith Track Pants: Looking for feedback!

I just did a new-season closet reorganization and I'm thinking a pair of drapey "track pants" would be a good addition for the spring and summer. Now that several of you have had some time to test drive the Leiths....what do you think? How is this trend working in real life? How does everyone feel about that leg-zipper? Did anyone get any other style or brand of track pants that I can consider that might be better? I really would want to keep the price down under $100 for such a trendy item.

I think some people had problems with them ripping!

I got these and I love them. They won rave reviews from YLF when I wore them the other day:

On sale, they're a bit beyond that $100 budget but I think it's not a bad price for silk.

I wore my Leith track pants to dinner last night & felt fab. I still love mine, especially with black strappy flat sandals. We sat outside enjoying the beautiful evening, and I was very comfortable.

Ripping? Why would they rip? Is that a problem with the fabric? I think the STYLE is something that will work for me but I should probably wait a bit and see if someone makes some that don't rip!

I think they ripped round the ankle zipper for some people? I am just careful to unzip them and not force my foot through, knowing this is a weak area in the garment.

I LOVE mine. My favorite outfit is to wear them with my taupe lace tee and taupe heeled suede sandals. Simple, comfy, and fashionable.

I sent them back because, while I loved the look, I found them a little tight in the calves. I do, however, have an impressive set of calves, making leggings and skinnies often not work for me. There's plenty of room in the thigh, hip and waist. I loved the zipper and the drape.

I am only 5'1" so I have a lot of extra drape in the length but I don't mind that and I've had no problem with the fabric. I am enjoying them so far and have gotten compliments each time I've worn them.

I know some people were finding that the pants ripped after a wear or two. Still, they look terrific!

I like how the gals around here are wearing them! The front leg zipper is a nice touch and versatile in letting you control the amount of scrunch (if you are not too tall, that is). For me the problem was of fit -- the size that worked best for my hips was too long, and because of the zippers I couldn't have them altered.

I was one of the people who complained about them ripping around the zipper. I exchanged them for a new pair and have had no problems since then. They're really - surprisingly - easy to wear, as long as it's between 50 and 80.

The material is listed as "milk silk", whatever that is! The closeups make it look like traditional track pants material
