I was cruising around Bloomingdales.com and I came across this label (looks like it's at Nordstrom and even Anthropologie as well), and fell in love instantly. Is anyone familiar with Leifsdottir? It's expensive, but the sale prices aren't horrible.
I particularly like these items:

It's all gorgeous! And I heard watercolor type prints like that will be big this spring.

Unfortunately, all very much out of my price planet.

Bloomingdale's did a beautiful job of dressing their models with the Leifsdottir clothes without having them look like they are Hobbits. I've been very intrigued by this brand on the Nordstrom's site but they display the styles in a very different way. I have been tempted to ask Angie about Leifsdottir also because the brand is very expensive and the clothing on the Nordstrom's site is very unusual to me. I have always taken a second look at their things but have not seen them as wearable until I saw Bloomingdale's site here. The choices you have made are beautiful and I could definately see you wearing them. It seems like you are getting to know your personal style well.

Thanks San! I'm definitely getting there. The first dress I posted is so pretty. I've seen it styled several different ways, and I think it could be worn year round.
I first saw the second dress I linked to on Nordstrom.com and I thought, oh my gosh that's so beautiful. So I was intrigued and checked out the rest of the line. I'm curious if anybody has tried it. I certainly haven't heard of it before.

I love the look! I've seen their clothes at Nordstrom and Anthropologie, and I saw quite a few of their things on sale at Anthropologie the other day. Sarah, you'd look beautiful in the first dress especially, it's very "you".

I love Leifsdottir (way out of my price range though). I believe Angie bought a Leifs skirt that went on sale.

Edit: I just realized that skirt is the one in the last picture. Duh.

I'm trying to convince myself to do ust that, rosebudrmm. That's more than I've spent on any single one item in my entire life, other than my car and our house I think. My idea was to pair it with a biker type jacket, but I can't seem to find one yet.
I think it's interesting that I like this line so much. I've never been an Anthropologie person at all...

I was actually thinking how fantstic that would look with a biker jacket - the juxtaposition would be really cool. It definitely would be a splurge, but it seems like the dress could really transition through seasons well. You migh get your money's worth! Plus, they always say that one nice thing you love and will wear is much better than 3 okay things you won't! Can't wait to see if you get it and love it! - Rosie

Thanks everyone, I just ordered the dress. I think it will be longer on me than on the model. At least that's what I'm hoping. Angie, after seeing pics of my skirts over the past several weeks I'm definitely jumping on the knee-length (or slightly above) bandwagon. There are tons of cute shorter styles, but pictures don't lie, and what's best is best.
One more question...how do you pronounce the name? I'd feel silly wearing a dress and not being able to pronounce the brand.

My guess at pronunciation (maybe Shiny knows better since she's been to Iceland) is Leafs-daughter.

The literal translation is "daughter of Leif." Just like Erikkson means "son of Erik."

That's about the limit of my Scandinavian language knowledge

I'd say Lafe's-daughter. I have a friend named Leif. He has Swedish heritage and pronounces it 'lafe'. Actually he has a daughter too.

Oh, Patience, now you can call your friend's daughter "Leifsdottir" and they will think you've magically become fluent in a Scandinavian language

On the language thing - Iceland is the last Scandinavian country to use the traditional naming style. So yes, it is Leif's daughter (or dottir in Icelandic/Norwegian). But if the company was a man's it would be Leifsson.
Leifsdottir is a brand owned by Urban Outfitters (who also own Anthropoligie) that they must be marketing elsewhere. So sadly, there must not be an actual Leif's daughter doing those beautiful designs!

But I love the dress!

I say "lafes - doe - tier". It’s probably wrong, but the ending looks French and that’s how I would pronounce that brand in France. Just like the Nordies brand “Entier” is pronounced “Arn- tee- yay”. We need a Scandinavian YLF-er!
