I'm 49 and it was so hot the other day that when I saw several considerably-older-than me women out in public in really quite short shorts I donned a pair of baggy (but not long!) shorts and asked my early-20s daughter whether it would be unbecoming for a woman of my age to be seen in public wearing shorts. She said "absolutely not - it's fine!" I queried her reaction and asked her to reconsider with due consideration for innocent strangers who would be thus exposed to the sight. She carefully inspected my legs from all angles and again declared that it would be fine, and that I am fit and have good legs. "It might be different if your legs looked bad but they don't." Again I asked her to reconsider, pointing out that I AM NEARLY 50. She would have none of it. She didn't hesitate to tell me to change into a closer-fitting top though.
So I say wear your capri leggings if you want to and don't worry about it! And if you prefer to wear skin-coloured capri leggings, wear those -- or any colour you like, if you feel more comfortable covering up in that way, and consider yourself decidedly modest compared to certain much older women!
