Leather skirt for church

Yesterday, while walking in town, I noticed a woman of about 60 walking out of church with her family.

She was wearing a patent/shiny black pencil skirt and it made me wonder....

Although I love and wear leather skirts, do you consider them appropriate for church?

I think I remember a similar thread a while back, asking if leather skirts are appropriate to the office.. I would say it all depends on the styling! A conservatively cut leather skirt -pencil shape- paired with a button down or blazer, yes. Anything shorter, no.

I worship in my BR navy leather...I look at leather as just another texture and I feel that what I wear with the skirt is the clincher...Leather is not a casual option IMO..
Who knows...maybe someone is questioning my choice...ha

I agree with Isabela, it completely depends on the styling. WIth that said, I see it a lot here. In fact, Christmas Eve mass, for some reason, sees a whole lot of leather. Even tasteful leather pants with a tunic.

Leather seems like it would be ok to me, although I'd probably never think of it. Patent leather on an average Sunday seems like it could be a little much. I'd be on the lookout for the cheesy hoochie factor, but hey I don't suppose it's more important for cheesy hoochies to get to church than what they wear in it. Anyways, I'm a Catholic. When your church does daily mass, you come as you are.

I see a lot of cheesy hoochie in my church (Catholic). But I think a leather skirt could be styled appropriately and respectfully.
