Leather scuba jackets too dated?

I keep trying to style my two lovely black leather scuba jackets to take the place of the moto I want: no luck. They just look too slim and lady like.

Are they just passé? Advice on styling?

Pictures would help, but I'm guessing the jackets are not necessarily dated so much as just too classic for the style you're aiming for.

I hope not. I love my leather scuba jacket!

As Janet said, though, they are very classic which is my style. So, it may not meet your style goals if they are not classic.

Maybe it's a proportion issue I'm missing: they are both very body con, stop just at the top of the hip bone. They look dull with straight leg denim and low boots (heels and boyfriends?). Frumpy with my gray pencil skirt (maybe needs hemming?). What else should I try?

How about more fluid fitting pants? Higher waisted pants? Maybe a top that drapes over the skinnies with the scuba over it. I have a lighter taupe-gray scuba style that I like and find wearing it open helps also.

Good luck. I like some longevity in leather items and hope something works.
