Hi everyone. I new here and really enjoying the forum, and anxiously awaiting the ability to see photos

I apologize if this is a dumb question. I have developed a love of higher end jeans over the past few years. Some of the trendier pairs come with g*d awful, gaudy, leather logo patches on the rear belt line. I have always immediately removed them and assumed that that that's what one was supposed to do. However, they're sewn on like they're meant to stay, and left open on the sides as though one might actually want to put a belt under them (!). Hmmm. I know the patches are a thing for Levis, but I can't abide them on other jeans if they're at all obtrusive. Am I committing a fashion faux pas by removing them?
