Leather jacket color and versatility

I am pondering a replacement leather jacket (ok, or two) for the two I'm selling due to weight loss.

I know light color jackets get a lot of love here. Help me with one thing, please. How different is white vs off white/cream in terms of versatility? I see several old threads with ladies buying a white Danier jacket and think white would be good for me but so far all I've found is a cream one. It's on order for delivery next week (in color tan taupe):

I tend to wear lots of saturated colors like purples, blues, dark denim, black denim, reds, etc. I like color and high contrast. Fwiw my hair is blonde and I have fair skin and blue eyes.

Thoughts?

I find white more of a bright than cream, but it depends on which looks best with your coloring. The jacket pictured looks very versatile.

Well, I know I like white after adding several pieces to my wardrobe over the last few years. I own nothing in cream. Nothing. Maybe that should be a red flag?

I like this a lot. If I recall we have similar colouring and am finding white is better for me. It depends how cream the cream is:)

In general, I find that white is more for cooler coloring than warm coloring. Do you know if you tend toward warm or cool?

Yes Deborah, I believe our coloring is similar. I'm a little worried this might not work out but all I can do is try. I will prob post a k/r once it comes. Stay tuned

Gigi, I wear almost exclusively cool tones and my skin and hair tones are cool as well. Hmm.

abc looking to seeing the jacket. I just checked my jacket because I couldn't think if it was white or cream duh! And it is more white but I do think there there is a hint of warm to t tho not too much - much prefer cools colours for my colouring too. Fingers crossed.

From what you have described it sounds like a white or a bright cream might be the way to go. I have a white denim jacket, and also the white danier leather jacket. I also wear cool tones.

It's a very nice-looking jacket, that's for sure.

It also depends on whether the jacket will be the stand-alone "white" item, or mixed with prints or other items in true white, and whether you like mixing various shades of white and cream--which can be a great look, but different folks like to do that more than others. Plus as you said, combining with the other colors in your wardrobe.
That's because you will be deciding whether the jacket itself works with your coloring--even for "cool" coloring, there can be some great not-quite-white colors that are fantastic and worth adding when you find the perfect fit or style in something, and also deciding how it plays with the rest of your wardrobe and your targeted outfit combinations.

That's the same jacket that Angie recommended in ink, right? In a thread about it that Shiny ( I think?) began earlier this week, she describes the colour of it more accurately. Can't remember what she said.

My light leather jacket is a sort of winter white - a slightly greyed out white, not optic white and not really cream either. It's pretty versatile and wearable -- I can wear it with both optic white AND cream since it's neither here nor there, LOL. And it also looks good with blue, grey, fuchsia, berry, taupe -- my main colours. And black, of course.

The one in the photo looks fabulous and is definitely worth a try.

Thanks for starting this post. Nordstrom has a faux leather jacket on sale I'm eyeing, but it's hard to tell if it's white white or more of a cream. I am more a fan of the latter. I'm worried about durability and stains, too, with a lighter color.
