Leather Gloves - Which Colour to Get?

Hi ladies,

I would like to get a new pair of leather gloves. I have three older pairs, but they are all unlined. I need a warmer pair for the coldest months.
I'm not sure which colour would be best though. By best, I mean most versatile and something that will still look stylish and chic in a few years to come.

Things to take into account:
- My current pairs are: black, very dark blue and purple. I don't want to duplicate these colours.
- I don't really want red gloves.
- It would be fab if the new colour worked with my three current Winter coats: solid black, a purple tweed (false plain - old pic attached), and my new green one (see colour below).

I was thinking of a bright, cool shade of green, so doing "ton-sur-ton" with the green coat, while still creating some sort of contrast. Do you like that kind of look? But will that colour work equally well with my two other coats?

Those green gloves are beautiful Inge and would work perfectly with your three coats - I especially love the color combo of purple and green. A cognac color would also work with your three coats.

I think the green would be a great choice for all of the coats. YOu might want to pick up a scarf with mixed greens, and a touch of purple in it to tie the look together even more.

A really bright pink might also work. If that's not too much like red.

I can vouch for the quality and warmth of these gloves. Either petrol (tealish) or army green (olive). I own two pairs of the leather cashmere lined gloves.

I think the teal that Anngybe posted would work really well too. I bought a pair similar to that color for with my black coats but can see it with a brighter teal and purple too.

You have quite a few options other than neutrals.

I really like the idea of some kind of green. I like the yellow-green ones you linked to and both of Anna's Coach suggestions! So I'm really not much help at all. I think warm and cool greens together are delicious.

I think a warm mustard color would look pretty with these coats.

I think green would be perfect - the first two colours I thought of were navy and purple, but you have both of them! Great minds think alike!

I like the idea of teal gloves with your coats but the green ones will be fabulous too. They look like beautifully designed gloves.

By the way I am a big fan of tone on ton! Your coats are gorgeous!!

I would probably buy black honestly, but for a color I think the sweater under your purple coat is a good color.

Julie, I didn't know JL ships to Belgium (now I'm all over their website!-) You found some fantastic gloves here, wow! I could so see you in the vintage blue ones (very unique colours in that range).

Next step: I'm going to don my green coat and visit this amazing old school brick and mortar store that specializes in gloves (just look at the shelves!) and have a look at all their green gloves.
