Are leather alterations worth it?I

have a beautiful black leather jacket purchased in Florence nearly 10 years ago. It fit well then, but now is quite big around the torso/waist and needs to be taken in. Shoulders, of course still fit perfectly, although I would prefer to take the light shoulder pads out. Is this worth altering? How much is reasonable to pay for such an alteration?
