This wouldn't be practical for me: my kids like to play hide n' seek in my closet and I could see a mishap with the shoe caddy. Not sure I'd enjoy spinning shoes -- it seems more soothing and helpful to look at a shelf that doesn't move.
That's cool. But it has the same problem as all standard shoe racks. You can't put tall boots (or even midcalf ones) anywhere except the topmost shelf. This is a problem for someone like me who owns more boots than shoes.
I need to get my DD's friend, who is a great handyman, to make me one of those. It won't hold my tall boots, but it would hold just about anything else. I'd make room for it some how, some way.
Oh, gee. I could use one of those. Yes, boots would have to go elsewhere, but that would be too cool for shoes! Just showed it to DH. He seemed mildly interested.
That's very ingenious!! They make, I think it's Improvement's catalog and other storage catalogs, a metal version that turns. But the shoes hang from the usual hooks. Not so nice but about 2 sq ft of floor space. We have this on the landing in the garage for messy shoes. That's a really nice one. It's amazing what you can make if you're handy!!
Addendum: okay I know this lacks all charm but if you are tight for space and like the concept, need cheap and easy to assemble this is an alternative. http://www.improvementscatalog.....acks/13198
