I had to take my quilting machine to another town for a cleaning and checkup. Since I was able to stay and wait for it, I browsed the shop. They had some garment patterns for $.50, so I bought a traditional overalls pattern.
I had this heavy linen drapery fabric, with a gray, almost snake print, for a long time thinking it would make good pants. I washed it when I bought it so there won’t be shrinkage problems.
I ordered overall buckles and installed the jeans buttons in the kit. But on the sides, I used some antiqued metal-look regular buttons, thinking that I could possibly move the buttons to adjust the waist size sometime if needed.
This is after I completed them, including making adjustments in the inner leg/crotch seam and rehemming since they were too long. This tee doesn’t match, but I have plenty of solid, dark, long sleeve tees and some light tee-type sweaters, so I hope to get lots of wear out of these this winter.
Thanks for indulging me by looking at my successful project!
