Just venting, as I take a pause from packing for Iceland...
I didn't sleep well last night (horribly, it seems I am coming down with some stomach bug... ugh! what bad timing!!!). So I know I'm making bad decisions right now. I've been in a packing panic for about three hours (while also attending "listen-only" con-calls AND dealing with teens who missed their school bus).
All my super-warm T-necks just don't look right with my jeans!!! I am realizing that my "style transformation" began in late winter, when temps were already turning warmer. Or, because it's been mild here this week, I just can't get used to the bulky/puffy look!! I don't know!
Everything just doesn't look right... sigh....
My strategy so far is to bring most of the same stuff I brought to Philly, but with the $60 Puffer that makes me look like marshmallow man but theoretically should withstand the 17 degree "real-feel" temps (that low because of wind!). And hope for the best. And buy warm sweaters when I'm over there if I must.
I am debating about bringing one pair of pumps, thinking we might go out dancing one night. I'm thinking I can put them in my Furla bag, and wear uggs to the club, then swap out once I'm there (assuming there's a coat check for uggs and puffer). I would love to go late-night dancing with my sweetie; we haven't been dancing in awhile! I can't see getting all hot and sweatie dancing in boots.
Otherwise, for shoes, I'm packing just one pair of black flat boots (they proved themselves last week, when we walked everywhere), and one pair of tan Uggs - highly practical and warm.
Not sure what shoes to wear on the plane though! I can't wear the black boots because I'll never get them off in the security line. And the Uggs... too warm... I dunno... ?
I could wear my booties (they're healed) but I *hate* wearing heels in airports.
This is getting complicated!!!!
On the plus side, so far my suitcase looks pretty roomy and sparse. At least I haven't gone overboard!
Hour and a half to go...
