Hey, did you know that Lands’ End posts the exact garment measurements for most items they sell? It’s got me seriously considering them again. The Lands’ End catalog was a staple in our house when I was growing up.

I used to buy from them a lot when I was in college and didn’t live too far away from their headquarters. Then I moved and my style went younger, and they got bought by Sears. But they’ve always had high-quality stuff and they’re definitely trying to have a broader aesthetic.

I like their stuff, though I don't own much from them. My dark jeans are Lands End, and I love them!

sizes are too big. it's too bad because they have great basics like reasonably priced high quality cashmere sweaters.

I just bought a LE down vest for $30 at Sears. Really practical at our current temps and for camping. But they do run big - I'm an XS petite in their sizing!

I ran into a friend there and we were worrying about what it meant that we were shopping Land's End - are they getting more stylish or are we getting frumpier?

You are not getting frumpier! Funny...I think Land's End is getting more stylish.

I have bought many pairs of jeans from them and they were always true to size, but I HAVE purchased some items that were too big. Now they have free shipping all the time, so I order a couple sizes, and then head to Sears for the returns. No problem!

I used to be a Lands Ender. I loved their quality. I will try them again.

I buy selectively from them for me as the sizing can be just not right (it does run larger on regular LE, but LE Canvas which is a younger look runs more TTS) I buy for DH and DC all the time as their return policies are fabulous and the majority of the time the quality is quite good. They have upped their style quite a bit. I find great deals on the LE sale pages when they run extra % off. That's where they stash all the LE Canvas sale items.

I think LE is getting more stylish. My DDs liked a lot of stuff in the last catalog they sent, and I ended up getting one DD a nice blazer and the other DD a parka and some turtlenecks.They also had some merino wool button-up vests (like cardigans, but sleeveless) that my DDs loved, but I wasn't willing to spend that kind of $ on them this month.

I went by the size chart and ordered according to bust measurements and according to what the catalog said about fit. The turtlenecks I ordered, for example, fit close to the body. LE sells other turtlenecks that have a classic or relaxed fit, so it's important to read all the info. you can before ordering. I didn't know they disclose exact garment measurements. I'm thankful for that because many times I'm not quite sure which size to order.

They are great for basics, but yes, they do run big. Quality is usually quite good, and the return policy (any time, for any reason) can't be beat.

At this time of year, they tend to offer special discounts frequently. They just ended a few days of "any one item 40% off" -- including higher-end items such as winter coats, boots, and down pillows.

I think they are getting more stylish I find the website user reviews very detailed and helpful, people often talk about their body type and why something did or did not work for them. In Canada the returns process is not quite as smooth - if you don't like them and don't want to exchange, a return shipping fee ($7.95?) is deducted. But they seem to have near-constant great promotions (even for Canadians!)

I have been finding interesting LE , bought some items from them (I think I bought the same vest as Una) but the sizing is a bit off on me.
Still I feel very tempted by their winter coats and probably will give them one more go with sweaters.

If you have a question about sizing, just call LE and they can give you ANY measurement of the garment you are thinking about. More information than what you can find on their website.

I also like that they hem pants for free!

April, I got one of those promo codes in my email after I wrote this post last night, and it tempted me to order the milano rib jacket I'd been eyeing - 40% off and free shipping brought it from nearly $100 to $60ish. Fingers crossed that it's nice when I get it.

I haven't tried LE pants in ages, but when I did they never fit me. Sad, because I love the idea of being able to get them hemmed to whatever length you want. I'm often too tall for regulars and too short for talls.

I like their quality, and I have been buying from them for years. Nice quality basics, and very reasonably priced if you can catch them on a sale.

My husband swears by their performance tees.

I like their quality, return policy, and they are (were) just down the road in Dodgeville Wisconsin. They have a good range in plus sizes, and I appreciate that they reply to customer comments, and sometimes even modify their product.

I have gotten habituated to their 40% off specials, so I stalk the bigger ticket items.

Quick update - the red blazer I ordered came today, and it's going back. It's more of a brick red tending toward maroon rather than the true red I was thinking from the pictures, and the patch pockets make it look more casual than I wanted. The fabric is really nice and the construction excellent, however. They included another coupon redeemable in November, so maybe I'll try again later.

My mom has some really good looking cords and shirts from LE. Nice quality.
