Lainey cashmere skirts

I picked up two skirts for $1 each at a church yard sale a while back. I've been collecting wool sweaters, with the intention of turning them into diaper covers--of course my baby will be potty-trained by the time I finally get around to it......

These skirts were so soft, and said "Made in Ireland" on the tag, which I thought was so much cooler than "Made in China." So I brought them home and showed them to my husband, who informed me that I would NOT be cutting them up and turning them into diaper covers. "You know cashmere is expensive, right honey?"

They are 100% cashmere. Floor length. The tags say "LAINEY made in Ireland."

Does anyone know about this brand/designer? What on earth do I do with them now?? it doesn't get cold enough where I live to wear floor length wool, and they're not really my style even it if did, although they are sooooo deliciously soft.

Forgive me for being blunt, but since you only paid $1 each, what is hubby's objection? Why shouldn't you do what you want with them?

However, maybe what he's really trying to say is that you did amazingly well at that yard sale and he would like to see YOU wrapped up in that luxurious fabric more than the baby!

So...can they be hemmed?

Or can they be made into scarves for your whole family? Or a gorgeous shawl or even a throw?

Forgiven. =) I didn't mean to portray my husband in a negative light--he wasn't telling me I COULDN'T cut them up, just making sure I knew what I was doing! He keeps suggesting that I keep them to wear myself.

I think I may hem them to knee-length. I can wear them and STILL make diaper covers, or a scarf, or shawl or..? Thanks for the suggestion!

Good heavens, sell them on ebay! Do a search on Lainey cashmere, then check out those prices!

Hi there. I really like Lainey and living in cold (often cold and rainy) Ireland, I like to buy her stuff-They are my comfort blankets in the sometimes harsh realities of life. I would like to buy them!! Can I?? Do you still have them??
