Lace-up sandal?

Went shopping at Nordstrom Rack today and found this sandal from Naturalizer. Very comfy. I think the clunky factor is on the fun side. I thought it was a gladiator and lace-up hybrid but I see that it's listed as a fisherman sandal. I didn't notice until after I tried it on that it was a wide, but it didn't feel wide to me.

Questions:
Does this qualify as lace-up?
I don't mind a little clunky, but is it too clunky and /or frumpy?

Absolutely not too clunky! I think they are great with the outfit you are wearing. I spend a lot of time perusing and trying "comfort" sandals and these look much better than most of what I've seen so far for spring.

They do look more fisherman than lace-up to me, so it depends I guess on how you feel about that. I do think fisherman sandals are clunky, but you always look cute so you can pull it off.

Maybe a gladiator-lace-up hybrid, but I like them. They bookend your hair in color and volume

I think they look cute on you. AJ, with your style, you make klunky look cool--seriously. I think the studs add a lot to this style, giving them a little more edge than they would have otherwise.

I like them on you a lot, actually! I'm not sure about the trend, but they really don't look clunky to me at all, in the picture on you. And I usually have a bit of a poison eye for clunky! They must fit your foot/build very well. They look great!

They definitely can work. I wouldn't qualify them as lace up or gladiator, I think fisherman is best. However, depending on what you would wear them with, they might be "too clunky". The pants look nice with them though and they seem like a good fit.

BTW, I love the navy sweater!

They look great the way you've styled them! They're not dainty but they are very structured and they balance the otherwise relaxed look of your outfit. Nice!

I like them on you a lot -- I think clunky, or perhaps a better word would be bold, sandals can be a great look. They don't seem to overwhelm you, and I know you have quite dainty legs. Many of the lace ups are a very feminine vibe, which is great too, of course. I could see a very dainty pair in your wardrobe, too. This sandal would be a great family vacation choice -- supportive, fun and casual. It will accommodate that slight swelling when get with a lot of car riding and hot Summer weather.
