I know not everyone is a fan of peplum tops, but oh boy, did I ever fall hard for these excellent peplum tops by Bobeau. I found the peacock blue top that I originally got to be such a great fit and perfect for pairing over pencil skirts, and decided to duplicate the top in black lace, which possibly has an even MORE flattering drape on my figure. I love it!

This was a rather exciting week in B's and my household. After years of B. stressing that I REALLY needed to get a new computer before my old PC kicked the bucket, I finally took the plunge and brought home a refurbished iMac. (My sister has had one for years and couldn't rave about them highly enough; also, since my monitor was also starting to die, I figured an all-in-one desktop option would be best for me.) Given that I've ALWAYS owned and worked on PCs, I'm still getting used to some changes, but the transition has really been surprisingly easy overall. However, adjusting photos in iPhoto (since I take photos when it's dark outside and use an indoor flash, I like to correct the light a bit) is still not something that I'm used to.

B. and I have also been living without a TV for the past few years - not out of any specific anti-television principle, but mainly because in our old place it would have been a little challenging to make room for one. In our new apartment, our living room is quite large, so we have finally added a TV to our household. I felt quite crafty for figuring out how to hook our Blu-Ray up to stream from NetFlix, Hulu, and YouTube last night, and it worked like a charm. We're going to see how it goes with those services only for a while - we're reluctant to add the expense of cable TV to our package if we don't really need it.

On to what I wore:
#1: Black lace peplum top, emerald green knit pencil skirt, black ECCO pumps, black bead and cord necklace.
#2: Black ponte midi circle skirt, black ribbon worn as belt, black and white houndstooth shell, double strand white pearl and chain necklace, low heeled aqua pumps; peacock blue cross-body bag
#3: Yellow, gray, and white ikat print dress; yellow Second Base demi-camisole; low heeled aqua pumps; peacock blue cross-body bag

Also partly visible is the awesome henna tattoo my sister (she's a graphic designer) did on my ankle. The henna ink that she used was a really excellent batch - a week later and it's still very bold and strong!
