I am in Orange County CA, close to the beach. Flip flops are the most common footwear here for all , from tiny tots to old folks. Older women sandals rule until our few months of colder and hopefully rain. The high school; set wear shorts and sneakers almost exclusively. now that the biggest of the tourists season is over see a bit of everything. If the temps get closer to the 80's sleeveless rules, even on those who should probably not wear them.

Nice to hear about this, Rachylou. With a tip of the hat to Runcarla's post on hair, did you notice anything in particular there? LA folks seem to be especially creative in that area.

"...I want it long, straight, curly, fuzzy, snaggy, shaggy
Ratty, matty, oily, greasy, fleecy, shining, gleaming
Streaming, flaxen, waxen, knotted, polka dotted
Twisted, beaded, braided, powdered, flowered and confettied
Bangled, tangled, spangled and spaghettied." --From the musical "Hair"

Speaking of hair, thanks for your tip on Olaplex products. I got some from Nordie's and my hair has never been happier!

Long hair definitely rules. With natural highlights. Light curling iron touches. I must say people are more groomed than up North here. Somehow even the messy bun is neater.

Also: interesting enough, not much vivid colour. Punky anime hair is very very common where I am. One thing I was thankful for was No Man Buns. Everyone here wears the Man Bun, including the women.

Oh also: not only no colourful hair, no man capris. Another ubiquitous and dubious style choice up here, lololol!

Had to laugh also: the urgent care place near my brother features cosmetic dermatology treatments.

What??? OMG, emergency Botox for last-minute invitations, maybe? WOW.

Sneakers, flip flops + Pot + Botox = L.A. hahahha. I had not noticed the black t-shirt thing - I will pay more attention around town.

AT, what are old women sandals, and who shouldn’t wear sleeveless?

RL, effortful messy bun = man bun? Good thing my messy bun is bona fida messy.

That’s true: the man bun is such a strained thing...

So fun. I live in a coastal temperate city, so I will expect to see these looks filtering into our summer fashion. Black t-shirts and black skinny jeans seem to be the uniform of our waiters and barista's - so it will make things harder trying to pick out the wait staff
