Thanks, everyone for your help with the K/R items and the boots!

Here is my update.

I called La Canadienne today (the website number) and they are going to ship a pair of the charcoal boots to the store. My stepson can do a straight exchange for them! Instead of a return and a credit, it will be a straight exchange. Yippee!

So...it will be a few more weeks until I get them (my stepson will be visiting again in November or early December). But at least I will get the colour I really wanted, at no extra cost.

I feel much better about this. I know the colour will work better for me; it is lighter (the person I spoke to confirmed this). And as my hair goes grey, it will become a bookending colour for me as well. I do intend to have these for several years (at this price, I had better!) and consider them an "investment" item -- at least to the extent that an article of clothing can ever be an investment. So I really want them to be right. PPP rules the day.

Speaking of which...I am returning the Zara blazer and sweater (along with a couple of other items that I didn't bother to post since I knew off the bat they were no good.) I love the fit of the jacket but the pink isn't quite the right pink for me. I'll wait for another Zara topper -- they always come along. Ditto the sweater. I want a cropped sweater but this particular one isn't well enough made for the price, IMO.
