So earlier this month I went to Ukraine for a photo trip, only a few days in Kyiv. Then four days in the Chernobyl exclusion zone
I wanted to tell you a bit what I saw fashionwise
They’re having an abnormally warm winter. Even the bears aren’t hibernating; the need a certain temperature for the hormones to kick in. I saw pussy willows in the exclusion zone. Most of the time it was above freezing during the day, and would drop below freezing at night, but not horribly cold. The only snow I saw was on my last day.
Footwear in the city was mostly Doc style lace boots, above the ankle. Fashion combat boot styles, sneaker boots, and chunky sneakers. Very, very few high heels.
Skinny jeans & leggings were very popular. Puffers with hoods for outerwear. Few fur coats, which surprised me, though fur trim on hoods was there. Definitely athleisure influences
One my last day I went to a local store that featured only Ukrainian designers
Rachylou would have been in heaven, so many puffers in so many colors. Even puffer scarves.
Lots of hoodies, I mean lots of hoodies, and sweatshirt dresses. Some of the hoodies had some fun designs
