So here are the Kut Catherine jeans in sizes 6 and 8.

1-2.... size 6

3-6....size 8

I tried them because in the photos they looked like they might work more like a classic fit than a trendy fit (on me) due to my shape. That’s so if I got them, I might be able to think of them as my “white pants” for a couple of years and not just this year. It’s already summer, so I have missed out on using them as cool spring weather jeans, but could wear this summer and then, aha! be prepared for next spring-summer, if they’re not considered so over by then.

I’m struggling with the size issue. The 6 fits more like a jean, but are the crotch creases too much or too obvious in white? The 8 has crotch “junk,” maybe. The 8 actually feels more comfortable just to put on, but then I’ve struggled with the typical jean fit, because to me it feels more binding, while at the same time I appreciate the tummy-binding and fanny-shaping aspects. With the 8, there’s a lot more fabric bunching at the waist and I’d have to take up the back waist at least, and the 8’s are more saggy in the fanny. (Both are big in the back waist but the 8 is worse). The 6’s aren’t uncomfortable, just aware of the more snug fit.

I do like the leg style for me—I think it does look kind of straight and classic with some ease. I returned the linen pants as too creasy. The Kuts, unfortunately, cannot go with me to work.

I would really appreciate input on which ones look best if you sort of combine “figure-flattering” and “normal” as your criteria. Or are white bottoms too shtumpifying on me? I do not think I will be a true boyfriend-style roller unless just to take up the extra length when wearing flats.
