I know many of you sing the praises of these jeans. How does the sizing run, for someone who is narrow in the waist but larger in the hips/thighs?

I am very "hourglassy" and the KUTs work beautifully for me... especially the boyfriend styles. They are great jeans for the price. I find that the Catherines run a bit large, so I order one size below my regular one on these. Also -- I am rather high-waisted and this particular style almost works like a "low rise" jean on me... i.e. the waist falls quite a bit below my natural waistline, so there is no waist gap problem. If you are not high waisted, then the fit will be a bit different for you. You should try these... especially since Nordie's has free shipping and returns.

thank you, El Cee. Sounds like we have similar body types, though I am not high waisted. I went ahead and ordered the 4P, because it was the only petite available. Based on what you said, though, it sounds like it might be a bit big, but perhaps that way I can get actual slouchiness on my thighs.

I do own one pair in my regular size and got it exactly for that reason... to give me a little extra slouchiness. I wear this pair a lot on the weekends and adore the comfort. Keeping fingers crossed for you.

They run a size large on me. Even at a smaller size I have to wear a belt when I go out because they slide down over my rather straight hips and butt. I am more apple now, so I need the room in the waist, and these aren't tight on me below the waist.

I think there is a good chance they will fit you very well.

I find KUTS all run really big and the Catherine's are no exception. My Catherines from 2 years ago are a size 6, and I usually wear a 10. They fit me like the model in your find. So I'd say go down at least one size, maybe 2, unless they've changed the fit. I haven't tried the petite sizing though so I don't know if it's overall smaller or just shorter.

Another who finds all KUT to run a size big, though I haven't tried the Catherines specifically; I do have the Diana and Reese and purchased both a size down from my usual.

Hmm, based on your comments the 4P might be too big on me, we'll see. I also got the Gap girlfriend jeans, sized up (ish) to a 27. The thighs fit nice and loosely but the waist is super loose (though pants will NEVER fall off of me due to body type. Let me get the Kut Catherines and decide. I like that these are distressed but reinforced, it's the best of both worlds.

I find that the Diana's run big - I wear a 4 in those. I wear a 6 in the Catherine's.
