K/t "granny" cardigan.

Here are some old pics of one of my grey cardis. It still looks the same, it held pretty well (I picked old pics because it shows better).
I really like it, it's the perfect light layering piece.
Husband hates it and yesterday he said I should just toss it.
Now I am confused, I am thinking maybe it really is ugly and I am blinded by its practicality? Plus, before tossing I should find a replacement, and this store's quality is rapidly going downhill...

Don't kill me, but I'm not loving it. It feels droopy to me and like the bust is in the wrong place. Not ugly, tho - just not love.

I wear things my husband finds ugly all the time lol...however he's dresses like he's on his way to the gym so i dont pay him no mind.
I like the color and the pattern but i am not a fan of the single button closure. Of the 3 pics, i like 2 best, with the column of dark neutrals. Maybe you could repeat with a column of white, cream, stone? How does it look unbuttoned?

Anne - yes, I was wandering if it looks dated too.
Marble - maybe you're right, unbuttoned looks better.

It's just the button placement that looks off to my eye. If it were mine, I would chop off the button and wear it open.

If I threw out everything my husband dislikes, I'd be walking around naked!

I vote nay. Not just because your husband hates it. I think you can find a better cardigan.

I think it is fine, but it does look "granny." I'm not a lover of boho, though. If you love it, can you wear it only when he isn't around?

I like it - it looks good to me. I have a couple things that DH doesn't like and I just wear them on days I won't see him much.

I like the boho ideas from others or maybe with a less contrast column of white underneath (and unbuttoned)? Keep playing with it. My husband is pretty vocal on his likes and dislikes and for the most part he's right....but that being said, I do have a few items that I love regardless. I also find it frustrating when we have the perfect piece whether weight, fabric, or color and when it needs replacing there's none to be found.

I think it's super-cute with the dress, second best in #2. It works less well for me in #3, but I think it's mostly a color pairing thing. I'm voting keep.

It's definitely very casual/boho. I think it works really well in #1, but I'm not loving it on the more modern looks. Maybe keep as part of a boho capsule?

I would keep and wear it unbuttoned. I do think that type of high single button closure is a bit dated.

No affection for 1 and 3 but love #2. Definitely has that retro 70's vibe head to toe.

It is the single button closure that bothers me. It doesn't read as current to my eye. I wonder if you could find a jersey blazer to replace it instead?

I like it in no 1 and 2 (love your dress BTW). I would keep it.

No way could you look granny in anything, but this piece does resemble something a granny might crochet. I would wear it open with some modern or non-granny pieces, although playing up the boho would be fun too.

I love it over the blue, for a juxtaposition in style and a way to show off the icy color and lacy crochet design.

It definitely conveys a distinct point of view. It's not modern or current at all, but I really like it. I happen to be partial to the one-button, open-bottom silhouette back in the 1990s, though, so take my thoughts with a block of salt : )

If the closure bugs, it is definitely worth it to try it open. However, looking at the cut, I think that might result in it hanging straight down from the outer point of your shoulders, right in front of your arms. Might also be worth seeing how it looks pinned closed with a big brooch, or wrapped a bit, at a point farther down from the button -- maybe at the bottom of the wide band of vertical ribbing. If you like it that way, you could try removing the button and stitching the buttonhole closed.
