K/T Any hope?

I don't think there is any hope for this, but I thought I would ask before I donate it to my church.

I love the robin's egg blue color, but I feel like the style screams Barbara Bush. Nothing against Mr. Bush, but she is more than twice my age.

Is there any styling hope? Or shall I make a nice donation of a barely worn cashmere sweater.

It looks very 'old lady' to me hanging on the hanger. It may look better on.

I would not give up on a cashmere sweater without a fight.
I think this would look great over white jeans and tank top.
Possibly lime green T with skinny denim jeans.
Sleeves pushed up.
Belted over a pleated skirt like this or in cream or even eggplant. http://store.americanapparel.n.....316colored

It might work layered over a shirt with scrunched sleeves.
Over narrowish pants and heeled booties etc.
I think with on-trend additions it could be fine, and I love the colour and fabric too.
Can we see it on?

I have worn only a couple of times. I can't seem to style it.

I don;t own light colored bottoms as all as I am very pear shaped. No skinnies eithers, as straightlegs are my skinnies.

I will investigate my skirts.

Over a work shirt with jeans might look good. I think you may want to wear this in a very casual way so that it does not look mumsy.
I think it might look good with olive as well.
Funkify it.
I would love to know how some of the younger posters would style this, if they wore it.

It looks awfully dowdy on the hanger, but I bet it is much better on, so long as it fits well. The colour is pretty. I think it could be modern classic with the right outfit . What about with:

Black Skirt + Tall Boots, maybe belted for extra definition
Your sweet new bootcuts + White Top + SE Petty booties, maybe with a statement necklace?
Your amazing wrap dress + Tall Boots

Great suggestions, I agree I'd really try all options before letting this go. What about wearing it (belted or not) under a jacket with your jeans?

ETA I forgot to say I have a friend who is a pretty pear & she swears by those small, shaped, removable shoulder pads they can really help with the line of a top.

I haven't seen this color represented in your WIWs. Is this a color that flatters your skin tone?

Straight legs will work in place of the skinny's suggested... The trick is to modernize it with the other pieces you choose. I love this color!

I think pairing it with young colors, either in a tee or a scarf, would update it. Like the lime that Moira suggested. Or my first thought was orange which I think would look incredible with that blue. I love everyone's suggestions for silhouettes.

Maybe with black cigarette pants? Not sure... But honestly my take on frumpy cashmere is that it makes delicious loungewear. Wear it with your pjs if you really can't style it!

Wow! What great ideas you've gotten. I think playing withe existing items could yield a winner. Even if you end up donating in the end, you'll probably learn something in the process.

I have used a cashmere sweater in my sleepwear capsule rather than give it up! If the colour is good do not let it go.

I would try it with white tank and dark jeans (straight or bootcut) with a structured bag and great sunnies for a classic but chic look. I think it has possibilities if you funk it up just a little.

Oh yes, loungewear! I have a ratty black cashmere sweater I finally had to part with. After a respectable life with my mum attending sensible events, it was passed on to me. During its 7 year retirement it survived three field seasons in Greece, plus countless other adventures. But both elbows had holes and the armpits and neck were unravelling, it was sadly time to go. I haven't found another to replace it yet.
