K/R...Love this, not sure it loves me!

I ordered Lauren's three dots tunic she posted about a few days ago. It is everything I want...soft, long, drapey, nice color. But...I think the fit is off on my IT self. I ordered both Small and Medium. The S fits better in the body...less overwhelming and a better length...but is very small in the shoulders, so it is not an option. If it was sleeveless it would look like a racer back I think.

This M is still small in the shoulders...I did a closeup picture to show where the seam falls. Better than S, but still not on my shoulder line. And maybe taking oversized a step too far in the body.

I think I'm talking myself out of it as I type, but I really want to like it. Opinions? Should I just go for this EF I originally wanted? I went for the three dots because I'm not sure about black near my face.

The link doesn't send me to the sweater but I would say for you to buy the one you really want.
This one is a little bit tight in the shoulders.

Peri, I think this is gorgeous. It doesn't look to big. I find that amount of drape and flow very attractive. The link isn't working for me. Can you post a pic of the EF tunic? I am wondering of its the one Gryffin has? Is #1 the medium or the small.m. I agree the shoulder on the S is not good.

I've gotten rid of all my tops that had shoulders like that, and I'm happier for it. I like the drape on you, but the shoulder seam does seem wrong. I say get the top you really want!

I see what you mean about the shoulder fit in the 3 dot tunic. I'm not crazy about it. Did you try on the EF tunic? I'm not sure about your shoulders, but sometimes that type of neckline elongates my shoulder line. I'm usually better with a v neck or a scoop. But my shoulders are on the extreme end of the IT spectrum!

Don't buy it if you are trying to convince yourself it is OK. Be patient and picky.

Yup. Sadly, the shoulder line looks too snug. It's obviously a good shape for Pretty Pears, which is probably why it worked so well for Lauren.

Onwards! Get the one you truly want.

I thought so. Thank you all for being objective, I was trying to figure out if it was okay and I think if you have to do that, it isn't.

Deborah, that is the picture of the M shoulder. I didn't post pictures of the S because it was even worse.

I'm not sure why the link isn't working...it works for me. I don't know how to do a picture, but on the EF website, it is called the Angled Jersey Tunic. I would be all over it if it wasn't black...that is what is giving me pause.

I sympathize completely. Although I'd wear it like this if it didn't feel tight, but it looks like it would feel tight. I know exactly the EF sweater you are talking about and it was calling me too. Thank you for saving me from the 3 dots, which I was considering!

Yes, Alaskagirl, us ITs have to stick together! It does feel tight at the shoulder and too big everywhere else. Still mulling the IF.

I have that EF tunic. And the sleeveless version. Which is kind of silly and I really need to stop duplicating and near duplicating things I love. Anyway, I am more pear shaped but with a strong shoulder line that's 1" broader than the widest spot on my lower half. The EF sleeveless tunic fits beautifully in S. I had to size up to M for the long sleeved version, the one you linked to. Good fit on shoulders and bust but quite loose through the torso. Almost dumpy loose, and I'm a fan of oversized garments.

I agree the three dots doesnt fit your shoulders. I would go for the EF that you really wanted. Either it will work or it wont. But... you wont know until you try it on. I had been eyeing an EF tunic (a silver metallic tank) for three months and had all sort of ideas about how it would be awesome with x and y and z. I finally ordered it. It didnt flatter in either of the two sizes that "fit" me. So, a long story to just say order the EF you want and try it and try not to agonize about it for months. It may work, or your time and energy may be better spent finding the next thing that catches your fancy as opposed to getting hung up. Rant over

Sorry mustn't have read your post properly. That is a shame because the aside from the shoulder the M looks fab. I found the EF one and it is lovely. Do you wear much black?

Another vote for the EF - I don't like the pulling in the armpit and shoulder much.

Sarah A also gives some excellent advice. If you really adore something, you should ALWAYS try it. Sometimes it doesn't fit at all and helps you get over it much faster! And if it's really meant to be yours, you learn that too.

Agree sbout the fit but the color is a good goal.

If you're not keen on black , you could hold off and keep checking other EF items as she always does a number of things in not- quite black neutrals, too.
