Nordstrom Old Orchard, just outside Chicago, didn't know what hit it last night!
Kristen & I blew through and had an absolute blast together. We immediately hit it off and saw eye-to-eye on everything we tried on -- it was a great experience. We were looking for very different items, as Kristen needs everything due to her amazing weight loss (yay Kristen!) and I am looking for a few key items. AND, Kristen is 80% business casual and I am 80% casual. Still, we were able to help each other and came away thrilled with our selections.
We started with the women's apparel, where we had our saleswoman on the run from moment one. We thought there were some nice, unique pieces on offer. Purple was the dominant color. I was a *little* disappointed in the lack of some more edgy, artsy pieces but there was loads for Kristen.
Kristen came away with a fall coat from Guess, two amazing dresses, a cardigan with interesting detailing and in a great color for her (mustard), a teal corduroy jacket from Halogen ... she scored!
Dress, from Semantiks (I think?):

I fell for a Calvin Klein dress in purple:

AND I selected a great quilted fall coat in a pewter fabric, by Kristin Blake. We forgot to take a photo but it was a big score for me!
We then cruised over the lingerie department where we discovered, to our surprise, that we wore the same style of bra, and it was on sale for $44, down from $70. Needless to say, we grabbed some of those!
Then, with the lingerie salesperson joking that she was calling shoes to "warn" them that the YLF army was on the march to their department, we headed downstairs. We agreed that the shoe selection was a big disappointment. I tried a pair of Franco Sarto booties, but the heel was too high for me. Kristen was looking for a pair of heeled boots and saw nothing. We were shocked! Maybe other stores will have a better selection?
By this point, we were starving! Shopping is hard work So we headed for dinner, and grabbed a salad and a glass of wine and chatted. When we left, we headed back to Nordstrom, only to figure out that the store was locked -- we had so much fun over dinner that we hadn't realized it was almost 10 o'clock!
Thank you, Kristen, for being so warm and funny and an absolute joy to shop with -- your opinion was invaluable! I look forward to doing it again soon. A final photo of us together:
