K/R/E: Pink Jacket Update - Third time's a charm?

This is the third jacket. The first one was ginormous, the second one was generous, is this one just right? It feels pretty good.

Interesting that this one seems to have arrived with fewer wrinkles than #2. Looks the best by far. Assuming it passes the sit down and hug tests?

I seem to recall that you said you had lost weight in the not too distant past. I wonder if there’s a bit of dysmorphia causing you to buy clothing a bit too big?

This one is better! The sleeve length looks better and the body looks a bit more fitted when buttoned, but definitely not too tight.

Well, it is a little smaller and a little less wrinkled. But I'm sorry, I just don't think this jacket is a great choice. I wish that someone in this forum could help you find a jacket which will suit you better and harmonize with your otherwise fab style. What about this jacket attracts you in particular--is it the colour, the fabric, the lines/shape, the details, or something else?

Skylurker, thank you for your opinion. it does feel smaller than the second one.

Donna, it passes both tests. I don't think I have dysmorphia. First off, I'm not petite, I'm 5'6". The first jacket was my normal size, a 10. I was surprised how big it was. This one is size 6. I last wore that size about 25 years ago. I just think their sizing is way off.

Cat, thank you. I suppose this jacket must seem odd. But it is a jean jacket style which I like, plus it's pink which lately I've been very attracted to.

I think this one fits very well! Good for you for persevering, I would likely have given up or settled on the ‘almost’ right one.
As for the colour, I really like it! It’s something different and it suits the style and fabric, plus it looks good on you:-)

Good but not great. It looks ok and functional but not flattering. If you like it and it meets your needs, keep. Otherwise keep looking. I do think you could get lots of use out of this jacket. Follow your instincts.

I guess I'm with The Cat and Joy here. I think the jacket fits best of the 3 but I don't feel it does anything for you. If you love it go for it anyway! Seeing as you're on a pink bender...

I really like this jacket for its unusual colour and shearling detail and I think you've got the right size here. The classic jeans jacket is oversized this year, which is probably why you needed to size down.

And it will fit right in. It's consistent with your style and you can dress it up or down. If you love it, I think it will go a long way. Thumbs up here!

Joy, thank you. I do like figure flattery. I don't like it when my clothes make me look fat, but it seems impossible with winter clothes.

Jenni, thank you. A bender - you might be right. The thing about pink is I am attracted to pale pink, not hot pink. So finding the right shade is difficult.

Approprio, thank you. I think it does fit in my casual wardrobe. I just have to decide just how much I really love it. It is quite wrinkled, and heavy, but the shearling feels heavenly.

I'm admittedly not in love with this, pink bender or no. I looked at it a couple of times yesterday and was confused at first thinking these were two different sizes represented here. Liz makes a good point reminding us that the trend in denim jackets is oversized right now, but somehow that doesn't strike me as something that is key to your style. Maybe it' the colour that is throwing me off- I personally find pink difficult to wear in that it requires a lot of support (makeup, other strong colour around it to balance the sweetness factor) so I do acknowledge that. Why am I even chiming in here??

Lisa, I know what you mean about sweetness. It doesn't seem like me, does it? Especially since I wear so much grey. But that's what I'll wear with it - my winter uniform of jeans, charcoal tee, and probably boots of some kind. The rest of the outfit would counteract the sweetness. Hopefully. Still thinking, here.

Pink doesn't need to be sugar-sweet. Schiaparelli made it shocking and with good reason. I have loads of it.

This jacket has attitude, the more so for being pink. Not so much Barbie as Boy Named Sue.

The placement of the front top pockets is throwing me off. It kind of looks like the pockets are up near your armpits instead of over your chest. They seem both to be too high and too far apart. Looks like they would be tricky to actually use for keys or kleenex or whatever practical items you might want for walking around without a purse.

I like this size on you best and the unexpected light pink. It will go very nicely with your greys and charcoals and will liven the palette.
Maybe wear it for a little bit in what will be your usual wear and then you will be in a better position to decide.

3Style, this jacket is not perfect, and I appreciate your pointing out jarring details. It has a lot going for it, though - great jean jacket style, warm, and unexpected color.

Joyce, thank you. The color works very well with grey. I'm not completely decided, however. I love the style and color, but not the wrinkles, for one thing.

Can you steam the wrinkles or are they due to extra fabric? I am referring to the ones in the center front on both sides. If they are due to extra fabric I would look for another jacket.

I’m surprised at the comments on this. I think it’s great for you, now that you’ve found the right size. It’s not “sweet”, the jean jacket style takes care of that. I think it’s a fun jacket option and hope you’ll keep it.

I'm with Elizabeth P -- surprised that this isn't getting more love! I think the colour makes perfect sense with your palette, and the fit on this one is good (I missed the first two, but looking back to compare I like this one best). If it were me, I might try leaving the bottom button open -- seems a bit tight on the hips, a problem I always have with banded-bottom jackets. Sherpa fleece lining is cute!

Joyce, I'm not sure the cause of the wrinkles. I wonder if it was washed after construction. Would an iron melt the shearling?

Elizabeth, LaP, thanks. I was surprised at how much people disliked it. Two other issues, though: bulky and therefore takes up a lot of precious closet space; the shearling which is super cozy, is a warm cream color, and kind of clashes with my very cool toned grey hair.

Angie, yes, I'm *very* attracted to pink jackets. Strange, isn't it? I have two others, though: a thrifted lightweight jean jacket style, not for chilly weather, and a pale pink waterproof shell that can layer over fleece or down. This one would be the icing on the cake, I think.

Ok, you just put your finger on it. The yellow- toned shearling doesn’t set off the pink in a sophisticated or edgy way. It reminds me of birthday cake and bugs me and I think causes it to read more girlish than some other pink items might. . But, that’s me, not you.

FWIW, I sometimes post something I really like that does not get as much forum love, and I will be puzzled but try to see if that tells me anything, or if it’s just different styles and tastes.

Unfrumped, I think I've talked myself out of this jacket - wrinkliness, bulky (and super heavy, too) and clashing shearling. If the shearling were pale grey and the jacket weren't so wrinkly there wouldn't even be a question about it. In fact, I would have already worn it. This has helped me a lot.

I often have barely liked outfits. It's true that the response here can tell you something. For me, the pants are usually too baggy!
