K/R/E: Another Pink Jacket

This jacket is Topshop Borg Corduroy from Nordstrom. It is nicely made, and I think it will be warm. Does it look too big? The measurement through the bust is the same as another jacket I have (#6), but that one doesn't seem as big. #4 and #5 is with a very thick sweater underneath. I wouldn't wear them together, but it gives you a sense of the size. It was comfortable through the body, but snug in the sleeves. #1-3 is with a long sleeve tee.

What do you think?

It does look big to me.

It looks bigger because it isn't as tailored as the other jacket under the bust. This one looks straight or just slightly tapered from under the arms to the hem. Boxy, not tailored. If it doesn't feel snug in the shoulders and arms when you move, it might be worn going down a size to see what happens.

The thing is, I can't imagine wearing this jacket fitted...

Looks wrong somehow. Size or shape, I'm not sure. Pic 6 fits much better.

It looks as if it is meant to be boxy or oversized but I would try a size down to compare. The other jacket is a completely different type of fit so you can't really compare the two.

It looks like it is meant to be outerwear and a little oversized. The color is lovely.
I agree with Suz about comparing fit side by side with a smaller size.

Thank you, everyone, for your input. I ordered a smaller size. So we'll see. The picture on Nordstrom's website shows the model's arms crossed. I wonder if that's because it's so wrinkled..

Too big. I find that TopShop doesn't have the most consistent sizing. I just re-ordered one of their leather skirts in an 8US and would have also ordered the 10US had it been in stock. I am normally a 4US. I tend to find with that brand that I need to order in three sizes if available instead of my normal two.

That's a gorgeous color btw. I THOUGHT I was ordering that color in a couple of TopShop items, but they turned out to be a brownish mauve. No thank you.

I like the more structured shape of the olive jacket on you. It will be interesting to see the smaller size on you because this jacket does look too big. In the photo with the model, because she has her arms crossed it brings the jacket closer to her body and does not make it look so big.

Love the color. What Suz said. The model's crossed arms make the jacket look more fitted, less boxy, but the jean jacket style is usually a boxy look.

Sorry, I've been out of towm. Thanks for your input. This was my usual size and so I thought it was supposed to fit this way. Honestly, I did think it looked kind of big.

Janet, I wondered the same thing. Till I saw Angie's comment, I thought, well, it's probably supposed to be oversized like that. . . . So I wasn't sure what to think.
But even if that's the design, it might not be what you're after, and it doesn't have to be the way you wear it.

I love the color and style. It looks big. A pic of the smaller size both buttoned and unbuttoned would help.

I recently bought a WHBM jacket that got YFL approval in the smaller size, but I decided to size up, even though it is too big, because I liked the feel. And versatility for heavy layers.

See how much the button plackets overlap on each size when you pull it closed comfortably. That is how I can tell mine is too big, even with a stretch fabric Unstretched i have an extra couple of inches. But I like it and would not have known if I hadn't ordered the larger size.
