I ordered the Tildon tube skirt with the funky disjointed polka dot pattern that Angie had in her finds and it arrived today.
These pictures are unstyled for the most part - just with my black lace tee that I was already wearing today and my kitten heels just to show with footwear.
Pros:
- fabric is luxuriously soft and has a bit of a pebbled texture to it that is quite nice
- the disjointed polka dot pattern is fun and the colour of the dots is cream, not white
- it is lined, although the lining is similar to the VC tube skirt in that it is fabric, not something more "slippery". Would need to try with tights/hose to test the "stickiness factor"
- great addition to my fall wardrobe and would work with much in my closet
- could be dressed up or down
Cons:
- it is a bit too big. I normally wear a large but ordered the XL based on reviewers comments that it ran a bit small. I could have tried the L.
- that having been said, I like the fit of the XL across my butt (not overly body con). I find the VC tube skirts too body con for me in the behind area hence the longer tunic tops.
- it is too long
My overall impression is that this is a great skirt and I'm very much liking it. It would not be worth it financially to return it to Nordstrom for an exchange for the smaller size. The cost of the second Customs charge would totally negate the return.
I have a fantastic seamstress in Wonder Woman and because of the seaming in the skirt, she would be able to: alter the waist to not be so loose, take the length up by a few inches, taper the bottom of the skirt to be a bit more fitted for me. This would give me a custom fitted skirt for probably about $40.
So I guess my question is keep and alter, or return altogether?
