K/R? Zara "ugly couch" blazer

The Zara jacquard blazer (that DH lovingly says looks like an ugly couch) is here! I would love your feedback on it. It feels like it fits better than my other blazers, but I am admittedly feeling starry-eyed...

I tried to style it with some items I already have. #1 black slacks and burgundy pumps. I think the pants look WAY off - maybe it would look better with a slimmer, cropped leg? #2 with my pleated pink maxi skirt. I neglected to change the top, or put on shoes... but I would maybe pair it with a pink or burgundy top and the same pumps in #1. #3 with dark high rise skinnies, an OTK black boot and metallic sandal (I like the boot better).

I think a flare light wash denim (my AG Janis) with a white pointy boot or dad sneaker and tee could be fun, or does the flare-ish hem of the jacket need a skinny pant?

Mostly, I want to be sure it fits properly. If it doesn't, there is no reason
for me to keep digging in my closet for outfit ideas. What do you think?

It's great for a holiday look ! I like it best with jeans and the white boots...and yes to scrunching the sleeves up.

Love the blazer -- I'd be starry-eyed, too! It might be a bit wide across the shoulders and upper arms. What does it feel like to you? And yes to scrunching or altering the sleeves.

Liz - I can't really tell about the fit of upper arm/shoulder. I tried to compare my fit with the fit on the model, and it looks a bit wide on her, too. I do not have a keen eye when it comes to fit....

With a sleeve hem, it’s a good fit. Looks like the colours are fab with your complexion. Nice blazer! I dare you to get the matching pants.

I like the jeans outfit best too. Pants in #1 are a little short for heels because they are bootcut.

Try the skirt with a shorter low contrast jacket and heels. Let’s try to make it work!

I will keep digging for something that will work with the skirt. I found a couple of welt hem sweaters in my holding zone that could work. I think they are all dark though...

What a gorgeous jacket on you! I rather like the strong shoulder line; it looks tailored and crisp to me. I like it best with the skirt and jeans. The jeans with the tall boots is stunning. The black trousers would work if they were longer. I see this as a fab addition to a holiday capsule.

Fabulous! Love it with the jeans/pants. Not so keen on the skirt. Makes a great jacket, but yes, not so good on a couch. Had a landlady with a silk brocade couch in plastic... not good.

What an awesome jacket! The fit looks good on you too. I like it best with the jeans. I think the black trousers would work with a flat rather than heels, they just look a tiny bit short of PPL here.

Not crazy about it with the pleated skirt. I think the proportions look a little off somehow. A slightly shorter jacket or maybe even just one with a higher stance would work better to my eye.

With the skirt, I wonder how it would look unbuttoned? I have a feeling it will still look too tailored. The length and/or stance seem off. I would love to see the pink maxi skirt with a duster-length topper. You could go quite avant garde with it, I think. The move conventional route would be something waist defining like a cropped jacket or a welted pullover. Don't you have some great moto-style jackets? Can we see those with the skirt?

I can see why your DH says "ugly couch" I had one of a similar fabric in the 80's. But I love your blazer--very versatile.
