K/R x 2: Grey wool dress & Navy Boots

The dress is EF, in grey wool. I was concerned that it would turn out to be brown, since that was how Nordstrom classified it, which I didn't realize until after I ordered it. The boots in question are Born navy suede. I'm also wearing a grey boot (Via Spiga) I bought last year for comparison.

1-3 is the smaller size
4-6 is the larger size
7-9 shows the boots
10 is the dress and grey boot in sunshine. The dress is obviously grey.

A.) What do you think of the dress? Which size dress should I keep, or should I return both?
B) What do you think of the navy boots? Are they too big at the top?

Definitely the smaller size dress. Fits like a dream.

Ps: I personally don’t like a gap at the top of my boots. It feels funny to me, when I walk.

The bigger dress is definitely too big. the smaller size is a great fit.

Keep the smaller size unless it feels uncomfortable when you move or sit. It looks great on you. I like the navy boots - a wonderful color. There is a gap but if you wear dark hose/tights, it won't be that noticeable.

I echo rachylou's vote against gaps at the tops of boots if possible... but I've yet to find tall boots that don't have a gap when I wear them, so I'm fully sympathetic. Tights, tall socks, or boot cuffs might help fill the gap, though some options may make it look more casual.

I’m in agreement, as I think the smaller dress too. I like snug fitting boots, so I would keep on looking. I really like the suede with the knitted dress.

Smaller dress and gray boots are fab together! Those navy boots are gorgeous. Not sure about them with the dress, but it might be the lighting.

Grey dress in the smaller size with the grey boots, and grey tights. Navy boots are delicious, but not my first choice to go with the EF dress.

Love the grey dress on you! Go for smaller size. The boots are beautiful but for myself I would not like that big a gap. If it is any consolation I have had the same issue with Born boots.

I'm echoing everyone who thinks you look great in the smaller size. I don't care for the gap at the top of either pair of boots, and would suggest another choice. (I envy your narrow calves! :))

I like the grey boots as they are a little higher - and it's a little more interesting of a look than the darker ones - although now I see they are navy and not black. But I'm with whoever suggested above that you keep looking for boots - these look too big around your knee area. Dress is gorgeous on you - I'm so envious !

Echo the consensus - smaller grey dress looks great! I think the gap at the top of the navy boots will bug you if you are planning on wearing agains les or hose. It might be okay if you were tucking in heavy tights or jeans

Dress is terrific in the first size. Love the idea of the navy boots but I think you should keep looking until you find ones that fit like the grey.

Paula, I don't think my calves are particularly narrow. I have big feet, and manufacturers think I must be big and tall with these feet.

The navy boots have too big of a gap if you're planning on wearing them with bare legs or tights. They might be okay with skinny jeans though. I have narrow calves and a hard time finding boots. Sometimes I compromise on that gap depending on how I intend to wear them.

The small size dress fits perfectly. You look fab!

The navy boots may seem a bit wide, but where I live, people wear all kind of boots many months of the year, and unless the boots look VERY wide, I don't notice. Choose whatever width you are comfortable with. Both pairs look nice.

Smaller size grey dress is fab on you! Goes well with the grey boots too. You could try some over-knee socks if the gap is bothering you. Tall boots are hard to fit.

Yay for navy boots! They might work out if you tuck your jeans in. Otherwise, I'd keep looking. I get a lot of compliments on mine. They were so hard to find; not sure if they're still available.
